Here’s an idea.
How about talking about your favourite Showdown wins or moments.
Really over the constant doom and gloom on this board.

I have recorded Showdown 1 and replay it often. It was a Crows home game so I was locked out and have to rejoice in the replay. About 50 or so of us got together and watched the game from the Lakes Resort Hotel and hot footed it across to the stadium to stick it to Crows supporters as soon as the siren went. I can remember that every time Port kicked a goal we broke out in the Club song and the crow supporters had no reply as those were the days before they stole the USMC Battle Hymn and were still singing a one liner, Here We Go.

The only downer from that game is that losing to us may have been the wake up call that Blightly needed. From there on they didn't loose many games in 1997 and we know what happened in the finals.

Still good to see the original squad running around and sticking it to the Cows in a game they expected to win.

Aren't they just so cute? We don't like them too.

That's just not true lol. The entire game against Brisbane was good. Just because they got a bit of a run on in the second and the umps were going in hard, doesn't mean it was unacceptable. People have very short memories. Yes last week was atrocious, but the week prior was an amazing game.

First quarter v Brisbane was a borderline pass but in the second quarter Brisbane kicked 6.2 to our 2.2 and I do not rate that a good quarter. Not too sure why anyone would be laughing at our efforts this season. If we reproduce our second half effort against Brisbane we may all be laughing but the burning question is- will we?

Has he played more or less games than Ben McKay?
Since 2017 Fanta has played 71 AFL games and Ben McKay has played 52.

Here’s an idea.
How about talking about your favourite Showdown wins or moments.
Really over the constant doom and gloom on this board.

Round 5 2003, we started the season slow 0 and 2 but were starting to click but the crows were up and about. It was their home showdown 51k at aami, but somehow I ended up with a ticket.

From memory in what was a common theme for showdowns of that era was that we often started behind but overrun them late in a nail biter.

The showdowns in the early to mid 2000’s were fantastic, I think that’s when the quality of both teams collectively were at their highest and the games were very intense. They were always close but we had the wood on them.

My favourite memory was some of the boys wearing long sleeves under short sleeves cos it was a bit cold and the Crows eviscerated us within 10 minutes in round 20 2017

We played finals that year and lost to a West Coke team more cooked than your red light special chicken at Coles at 8:59pm

Ken got a contract extension shortly afterwards good times

Tom Clurey should be in the boat of what is the point based on his last 6 years. Did he suddenly learn how to defend without falling over?

Very much looking forward to seeing all of Jonas, DBJ, Lycett & Georgiades named tomorrow. What we need now is stability, not knee jerk reactions at the selection table. If TJ can get 4 disposals & half a smother this Saturday, that’s an automatic 25% improvement on last weeks output which is good enough for me. 💪🫠

We exist to win Premierships!

Seriously don’t know who Jake Soligo is.

I think even Crows supporters would accept they've been completely irrelevant in the AFL landscape the last 3 seasons. I mean they've nearly won multiple spoons, the ultimate indignity. I think they've actually finished below us every year since the 2017 GF. They've actually been so shit, it has kinda made footy a bit more boring in this state, as the care factor of their games and desire to watch them lose has been so low because they are just trash and of no threat to the comp.

So to think we have no idea who the players are from such a rabble isn't a surprise.

They're supposed to be on the way up now apparently, so maybe they'll regain some relevance. I did watch them the other day though, and apart from Fogarty who seems to have clicked, Rankine, Rachele and maybe Dawson and Laird, the only player that stood out to me was number 10, I still don't know who he is, but he looked alright.

Yeah Fogarty doesn't change that.

Exactly, they know we are in a complete spin with our defence already. Having their most damaging forwards fitness up in the air will just add to that.

I don’t buy that they only sent him in for scans on Tuesday and still no results today. They played on Saturday.

He is out.
