We need to get more game time into Lipinski, so I think he keeps his spot. If I'm looking at fringe players, Harrison is the most vulnerable.

Gold Coast are are quick unit and Witts has been outstanding for them, so I'm thinking we need Ruck Assistance for the next game given we already match them for speed

In : Krueger
Out : Harrison

Don’t follow the logic…. Gold Coast are quick so you drop a small to bring in a lumbering third ruckman who will spent zero minutes in the ruck?

If Kreuger comes in, it will be as a forward not because of Jarod Witts.

Re Harvey Harrison, kid has talent no doubt, thou more involvement would be nice.
Is he needed up forward if we play all of Elliott,Hill,Lipinski and McCreery.
Think Macrae should be given a run this week rotating with Adams and Mitchell in the guts. Especially whilst DeGoey is out.
Let’s see how it goes, GC have solid midfield too.
Harrison has shown enough for now if relied upon.
Or has Macrae got a better offer hmm.

At what round last year did we start doing a high intensity block of training to get us fit for finals? I remember we dropped away for a few weeks while we were training heavy. Id expect it to happen at some point in this run home, probably fairly soon

I agree with you on Lipinski and Murphy, both of whom were poor today but Cameron hasn’t shown much at all since returning from his knee injury. He would want to start producing something in the next 2-3 weeks to make sure his position is still locked before McStay returns and Frampton could potentially move ahead of him as a relief ruckman.
I disagree. Cameron was great his first game back and again yesterday.

Krueger will be interesting this week. Four games continuous at VFL level now, and has kicked 10 goals in that time. If McStay isn't fit then Johnson maybe looking over his shoulder with Krueger taking his spot this coming weekend.
Only question with Krueger is can he maintain his ability to be sound in his body at AFL level as to VFL level. We don't want him coming in against the Suns and lasting one quarter.
I don’t like Kreugers selfishness - he is unpredictable to his team mates flying for unmarkable balls, and his attempts at over the shoulder miraculous kicks when a hand off is possible lacks the team first attitude required.

Cameron was huge when it counted in the last QTR.

Lipinski/WHE and Johnson out

Macrae and McStay in.

WHE/Lipinski/Ginnivan/Bianco sub
At last some recognition of Bianco. Has been outstanding all year in VFL and IMHO would be a better bet than Lipinski currently. If Crisp wasn't chasing the world record for consecutive games, his position would be in jeopardy. I would like a tough decision being made at selection, unless his form dramatically improves. Frampton a must "in" this week, with an unlucky Oleg to make way.

Oleg is staying in the side. Crisp was fantastic last week.
Lipinski may lose his spot but he was also good last week.

I think Frampton should be playing against Casboult or King, can he just play in place of Johnson, not sure how it should be set up, just that he should be in the side, Mccreery an obvious in as well

Would like to bring Frampton back in this week. King, Casboult and Lukosius all taller than our defenders outside of Moore.

Hopefully McStay is good to go, if not then Krueger gets selected. AJ to find some form in the VFL, still think he will play a part in the side come finals.

McCreery into the 22, Markov or WHE as the sub.

INS: Frampton, McStay/Krueger
OUTS: Johnson, Harrison

I think eventually it's a no. We're playing a surplus forward, hence often a forward as sub. I think it'll be whe in finals as the sub, if we're at full strength. But I suspect he'll remain ahead of Ginni.

Don’t start this; Macrae’s contracted for next year, we’re not keeping him in the VFL because of phone calls his manager may or may not be receiving, it’s ridiculous.

Why are we dropping Oleg for frampton ? Makes no sense.

With Howe back we now have the luxury of taking a more “horses for courses” approach to selection in the backline. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Bruzzy has been more impactful with either Howe or Frampton alongside Moore and Murphy. Suspect we might see Murphy and Frampton rotating a bit down back in the lead up to finals. Given Frampton performed admirably as ruck we also have the ability to rotate him through there also.
The other thing to take into account is that Fly seems to focus on getting positive mismatches as much as nullifying type match ups. Will be interesting if we stay healthy.

I thought it was before the bye last year , maybe the same this year

I and you presumably don’t know the inner workings of what’s going on within the club. Irrespective of whether a players contracted or not, talks take place.
I get it, Adams and Mitchell are the premier players for his role and patience is needed. Thou at some point it would be nice to see the undercurrent and he’s next in line. Adams and Mitchell are not exactly 25.
Not here to create scuttlebutt, but I don’t thinks it’s as ridiculous as you may think.
Contracts are nothing in todays game.
