Absolutely ridiculous. Those tackles were standard and didn't knock people out when we used to target the hips. They are only dangerous if the arms are pinned. It's sling tackles when you've pinned the arms that are an issue.

Got me beat SR , I did not react well to the loss last night , and for that I apologise , too emotional and heated , over reacted , but when your 37 points up , we gotta learn from that and play the slow shut up shop tempo football , we will learn from that. Onwards and upwards , but this DeGoey suspension smacks again of knocking us down , we are the sleeping giants that is awakening , seems we are measured by “ rules” that others aren’t. Go Pies

Bigger issue is Grundy. He is incapable of hitting a target by hand and always puts the ball into the worst spaces, allowing teams to run the ball out of the centre.

Interesting. You do realise we actually won the clearance battle against what was widely considered a far superior midfield group. Much of that IMHO was due to Grundy winning a game high 24 hit outs (yes it was his lowest total season to date but coincides with a season low number of ruck contests for our games), and a third of those to advantage.

Playing against a renowned defence… it was a selection failure going only with mihocek and Cameron… they needed 3 talls inside 50 tonight

I'm assuming they expected JDG to fill that 3rd tall role rather than Henry per se. Had 7 shots on goal that I can recall so seems to have worked. That he only managed 1 goal 4 behinds 1 OoF and 1 OoB in a forward pocket is the issue. Jezza Cameron 6 goals 1 behind from his 7 shots. It can go that way sometimes.

At the time I thought JDG was very stiff to not win a holding the ball free against Danger. Even stiffer that Danger was gifted the free. And now stiffest of all to be suspended. Utterly ridiculous.

The MRO has rendered the bump extinct and now the tackle is headed the same way.

I think Sidebottom did a quad. If so, that’s a really injury at his age.

I think he is. Being an emergency seems to confirm that. Another good game yesterday certainly hasn't hurt that potential.

I think we were basically an inside mid short, ours looked shot in that last quarter, so we'll add one.

Also need to keep drilling pressured handballs, as I think we got sloppy when the heat was turned right up.

We have to provide ruck relief to Grundy with either Cox or Cameron Unfortunately.
‘Neither are great rucks or forwards. But it’s all we have.

Seems the Eagles are using 1.96m Hugh Dixon for the job. I'd back 1.93m Johnson's leap and athleticism against him. The issue would be what happens if you lose Grundy in-game. Who goes head to head with Nic Nat.

They did change the rules a few years back, and as far as I know there is now no risk of an increased penalty to a player if a club challenges a ban at the tribunal.

There will be calls to drop Henry but WHE had almost identical stats and from what I saw little impact on the contest. We need to look to the future.

WHE the only forward we had yesterday who worked hard enough to provide a lead up marking option and then actually hold his marks. Must have had 4-5 marks. Someone has to do it. Not sure Johnson is there yet.
