If he is injured, he should be putting his hand up and saying I'm not right to play. selfish players playing injured cost teams games. simple as that.

Coach doesn't have the balls to make the hard call.

Just tell him he's not playing.

How long are we going to persist with a blue collar midfield. A call needs to be made, to blood a future midfield that is capable of winning the flag. This lot clearly is not. We are not good enough to go far into the finals this year. We have a good draw. So time to get some fresh blood into the team while we have a favourable opportunity.
Swallow, Wells, Greenwood and Harvey are quality and give us something to build on. Can't say much for the rest.

Bastinac - a plodder. A poor man's Ben Cunnington. Has not improved since he started. Got to question if this is all he has to offer!!
Ziebell - a rusher who has fooled everyone with his endeavor, but that's not enough. I see him rushing into packs. Also see him lose his feet and get caught diving on the ball. 1970's footy. When he does get it, it is a rushed kick out of the pack straight to the opposition. I have never seen him rushing out of a pack with the ball. Maybe he should be the run with player and let Levi generate some play.
Adams - another plodder. Will we win a flag with him in the team? I think not.

Time to bring on some new blood.

Time to bring on some new blood.[/QUOTE How could I forget Ben Cunnington. He has been great this year.

Maybe if people say this enough, it will come true.

Jack has rushed out of a pack many a time with ball in hand and hit a teammate on the chest.

A quiet reminder that we are 7th, not 17th.
Yep. Not many positives to glean from the game but the result was no disaster. I mentioned elsewhere I think that we had already missed our chance to turn this into a great year and I'm happy to ride it out for a good year and hopefully see North fire up come finals.

Club knows all about it. Shoulder has been stuffed since R2. Will get done at the end of the season. Question is whether JZ at 75 percent is better than Jacobs or someone similar at 100 percent.

I think there's plenty to happen and we've shown we can be a great team this year.

Take next weekend for example, Gold Coast hosts Geelong and Hawthorn play Collingwood at the G', we win we're a reasonable chance of breaking away from 8th and becoming equal with 6th on points.

A lot of the top six have to play each other between now and end of August.

I see where you're coming from and it does look like a particularly open year. Fourth could very well be up for grabs if we can maintain good form for the rest of the year but we haven't put in a solid month of footy since 2012, let alone two months. Would love to see it happen but I think that 5th is currently our ceiling.

I think we saw the need last night for a defender who can lock down on the small forward. So I'm hoping Hine can show enough to be that man, probably at Mullets expense.
In: Effort from everyone
Out: Slow ball movement and lack of run

I'd love to see McDonald given the same role as Bastinac in the middle.

A free, outside role up the wing, he'd tear shit up.

I'd even be open to the idea of bringing McMahon in for Bastinac so LMAC can move up the ground.

Firitto - Thompson - Hine
Atley - Hansen - McDonald
Mullet - Swallow - Dal Santo
Black - Tarrant - Thomas
Nahas - Petrie - Harvey
Goldstein - Ziebell - Harper
Cunnington Greenwood Bastinac McKenzie

Em:
Garner Wood Wells
Grima Dumont MacMillan Jacobs
Daw Delaney

Out: Adams, Gibson, Anthony
In: Hine, Harper, McKenzie

Bastinac, Mullet, Ziebell last chance.

I kinda like this..replace a Hine/MacMillan for him in defense and give the silky smooth bastinac a spell in two's to think about the crap he has dished out all year entices me

Edit. I've been calling for Hine all year but others have said he will probably be delisted?

Not sure how Garner, Wells or McMillan could be emergencies when they are injured?

They are just the next 3 best 22 players back from injury obviously. Not so much the travelling emergency if you will.
OK. I'll have a crack with a team in position that I think can play ok. (Well better than yesterday)

Hine Thompson Hansen

Atley Firrito McDonald

Gibson Swallow Anthony

Black Tarrant Harvey

Nahas Petrie Thomas

Rucks: Goldstein Greenwood DalSanto

Cunnington Jacobs Zeibel/Mullet/Adams (take your pick, but if Jacobs isn't fit 2 stay in)

Sub: Bastinac

Anthony Swallow Gibson would have to be the worst skilled line in the history of sport.

Can only have one of these guys in the team at a time.
I think they all have limitations to be sure, but its about them playing within those limitations. Gibsons disposal has been very much better this season, and as long as Swallow doesn't kick the ball over 30 metres he's ok. LA just deserves a crack.

Someone is forgetting the days of our Green Firrito Simpson Rawlings midfield.

2 of those players are certified champions of the club and Firrito is 200 game warrior (Green also did his role) My point is that silky foot skills alone do not a footballer make, if so Matt Riggio would still be on our list and polishing his three Brownlows.

Skill is an issue sure but Swallow and Gibson are, at this point in time, vital to any chance we have of winning a final. I will concede that Anthony's combination of Auskick level kicking and decision making outweighs his run and ball winning ability. Not so much for the other two.
