Preview Changes R17 v Port

They really need to prioritise the Bont, Richards & Treloar combo this week. Libba can spend more time forward and the pitbull, lock it in style.

Butters, Rozie have too much pace for Libba. Fight fire with fire and unleash Richards for a full game in the middle.

I can see Libba playing the same role on Butters as he did on Serong.

Good luck predicting! 😁
(Genuinely. I do look forward to your reasoning).

I have no faith at all, as so many of the games are tough to call, imo, but I had 13 wins from 5th (Brisbane with their +2), down to 10th! (Hawthorn).

I had us in 7th, GWS 8th and Collingwood missing on %.

No faith at all. 😁
Might have to wait for my predictions. I need the AFL to release the dates, days and times for Round 24 as it has a potentially significant impact on the weightings I've used in the model.

Does anyone know when they'll release the round 24 dates?

Last year it as released on the 6th of August. We play on a Sunday the week before and GWS on a Saturday (both days games). Our game in the last round v. GWS will either be Saturtday or Sunday day game as its in Ballarat.

If we can break even or better in the midfield we win. Our forward line is superior to Port.

Drew goes to Bont as tag.

Then it is Horne Francis, Rozee, Butters, Wines. V Treloar, Red, Libba, Sanders.

Bont to good for Drew. I think we win the in and under but they win for speed with the other midfield match ups. English should be to good for Sweet but Sweet probably wins the hit outs.

Please 2021 Prelim us 🙏
That game was my best ever experience at the footy, but I think Kenny should've been sacked at half time! Woeful performance with a GF spot up for grabs.

Having said that, this week is just the type of game we tend to drop

Agree we have had some good performances and the Freo one was especially good. But there's an intangible something I'm looking for despite those couple of good performances. I/we'll know when we see it.
A Butters audition?

do u blokes tag, can one of our mids expect a tag? i suspect we will tag bont with drew, a bit like last year when bont was dominating, then drew cooled him.

Rarely. And we almost never make a mid-game adjustment to tag.

Libba will go head-to-head with the blokes who get first hands at the stoppage types (Rowell, Serong etc.) but not really a tag other than that.

Not really, but against Freo a couple of weeks ago Libba lined up on Serong. Not as a full tag, but being physical. I expect him to do the same to Butters.

Todd Marshall isn't on PA's injury list and Burgoyne has been upgraded to a test.

New super-utility Rory "get out of my way behind post" Lobb, if not required in defence, will seamlessly adapt to a midfield tagging role this weak.

Imagine the banter as the magg... er umpire prepares for the opening bounce.

"G'day Zac, I'll be escorting you around the ground today."

"What?! But Rory you're 250cm tall! Bont! Bont! I want to sign that Form Four, NOW!"

I’d love to see us bring in Garcia or Scott for Gallagher and then I think we have the best team on paper we’ve had all year.
