A disappointing part of the game was in the 3 rd when tex had the ball just outside 50, Will ran past calling for the ball, tex ignored it and bombed it into the spot we have been killed at all game
Likely this will be the final year that happens. Hamill a player and will get plenty of receives due to his pace. Should have 20 games under his belt.

Poholke has mostly played out of position and deserves some extended time in the midfield
Should be a straight swap for Mrouch who has been giving us virtually nothing.

Sad as it is, its time to make the call on Tex. He's averaging 5 kicks and 1.3 taps per game this year (mind you before this season he was averaging 0.5 taps per year over his career so no great surprise). Not to mention his defensive deficiencies. Not even Himmelburg or Frampton could do worse. He's trying no doubt as he always does, but the body's not responding.

And Fogarty is the same height as Taylor and giving us 0.7 hitouts per game so he's not the answer in ruck.
Yes, either Himmelberg or Frampton need to come in for Tex, as they both give a point of difference wirh Fog & both more suited to the ruck.

Himmelberg can also rotate with McAsey in defence.

Do you reckon Lyons, Cameron and CEY will be ready for us this week?

Midfield will be annihilated again but this time it will be orchestrated by 2 blokes who we thought weren’t worth keeping.
Lucky this year we have shorter quarters to keep our losing margins down...

Jesus.....It was only a very small part of that interview but very telling for me. That is when Nicks was asked about Himmelberg or Frampton coming in for Tex, Nicks admitted that some players came back in good condition and some didnt (referring to those two). Then said they are building their games and said they both played well in the scratch match. Funny that the scratch matches are state secrets atm and we cant make those assessments for ourselves.

The fact that those lads didnt impress or work at all in the pre season AND their time away during COVID is unacceptable. It means the coaches are playing a cooked 30yo Tex as 2nd ruck and cant justify dropping him or picking any of those two to play alongside him.

Riley Thilthorpe had to be told by Westies coach to not train as hard in his time off. #1 target. Dont tell me we need midfielders when our key position stocks are those two lazy pricks.

In another interview Nicks said he was impressed with Himmelberg's work the last few weeks, but refrained from making any comment on Frampton despite mentioning him as an option

Zorko will come in won't he? Stefan Martin?

What's this about Thilthorpe? Don't want to lose draft picks..

I don't know how people can watch the last few crows games with their own eyes and still believe in fairy tales like KPP are more important than midfielders.

With no gun midfielders your KPFs don't get a look and your KPDs don't stand a chance.

At least ROB shouldn't get monstered in the Ruck this week like he did by Jarrod Witts unless Stefan Martin comes up, surely he can handle Archie Smith and big Oscar who does more damage up forward? Might as well use Lachie Murphy as our ruck chop out for all the good Tex and Fogarty have been in that role, at least he'd be a chance of getting some ground ball.

Shaun Rehn dislikes this
Yes, and no. Rehn got #52 because he was the last player selected on our original list.

Most players request a change at the end of their 1st season, when more senior players retire and other numbers become available. Rehn was an exception to the rule - he chose to keep his high number, wearing it as a badge of honour.

I think we need both..and if we can work the oracle this year we might end up with multiple high end picks to be able to add both kinds of players to our list

2 Nic Naitanui (WCE)

Whoever is helping fog or Tex need to tell them the whole point of playing a smaller person in the ruck is so that they don't actually contest the ruck and act effectively as a midfielder. Just fake the contest and get ready for the ground ball.

The melts when Hamish calls out the name Jackson Callow with Riley Thilthorpe still on the board... :p

I don’t think that’s correct. I remember reading that Bickley was last man selected.

Comparing crows to rd 1 to 3. Losing 2 coaches have been factor however I have seen a change in the midfield setup. I remember Brouch saying they had about 9 players run through the midfield Rd 1 and now it seems you see the same 4 players.
I noticed after the last 2 games that Nicks has mentioned that 'The kids' were great in the middle when they went in after half time. Kind of sounded like he let Godden pick the midfield setup in the first half but then he over ruled him at half time and forced Jones and Ned in there. Why aren't we just playing them in there the whole game if Nicks is impressed by them?

How were Gold Coast so bad last year with all that depth?? Did they tank to go after Rowell?

How were Brisbane a team who won 5 games in 2018 before finals in 2019?

Sometimes all it takes is another preseason and one or two additions.
