that's the issue then with Menegola, limited to one.
Which one?
I think he absolutely plays a link up role, he covers enormous ground and works his arse off... And he is also a good contested ball winner.

Don't know, just don't rate him in pressure games.

Relative reference. Do you know what that means? A link up player is one who plays more of a link up role relative to others. Not solely plays that role. Its ridiculous that this has to be explained.
That is not at all how you made the comment

Pivotal game for both clubs - not convinced either club are the real deal this year - however you could say that about every club in the comp this year - come finals time - i reckon it will be a bit like playing musical chairs - no standouts this year

If Geel get beat this weak - they could do a Nth Melb - when the Kangaroos won the opening 9 games a few seasons back - and then just kept losing - and tumbled down the ladder

Probably Adelaides most important game since the 17 GF - because normally against Geel at Geel they just dont look like winning

I hope it is windy and wet - visiting teams have hell kicking goals in those conditions at KP

Sav will play this week....Scott has made it clear that he considers Sav best 22....put your house on it.

Stanley had better front up this week...I'm not sure I have seen a better demolition job than the one inflicted on Stanley by Lycett last week. This week, its O'Brien's turn.....who I might add is capable of handing out a similar shellacking....

Lets see what Rhys is made of...his performance last week an indicator of Sav waltzing into the side for this weeks game.
Stanley did dominate O'Brien in our last game. So there's hope for him yet.

nothing scientific, just unknown, new guy replacement types who we have written off have hurt us before. can't recall who ATM but some midfielders, a year or so ago, really carved us up in one game we were expected to win fairly easily. of course, they could bring in some absolute spuds.
we know how Lynch and Jenkins play, they aren't quick and we can cover them.
Brayden Preuss for North against Zac Smith just killed us. I'm with you.

Menegola is not a link up player. He wins his own ball.

Constable may be a good contested ball winner but he suffers from the same problem as ghs. He is a liability defensively through the middle.

You make a good point Seeds , let's hope Constable develops a better tank and provides better defensive cover over time.

Whilst that's the knock on him the positives are he wins it in close contested situations and generally gives off a handball to advantage - that's a big tick when we are shizen at first use at clearances. He's capable of 25 or so a game with more than half of those contested - that's a lot of ball to the likes of Kelly, Danger and Parfitt to initiate attacks from and would be weighing on the coaches minds you would think.
Cripps stated like that - he was enormous in close and got first use but normally a short handball. He built on that to spread more and buy time with clever pausing - he kicks a lot more now and is great overhead - but he's not a great runner as such.
Hope Constable continues to develop because guys who can find it in big numbers are rare :)

I’d be bringing Constable back in. He may lack a bit at this stage defensively but the guy is a ball magnet. Consistently racks up contested ball - often deft little handballs to a player in a better position to gain metreage. He’s a start of the chain player. And we need that type in our team at the moment. Remember that he was in our team earlier in the season when we were playing our best footy.

Exactly. It shouldn’t even be contentious.

I have tried watching more closely since I started reading the Tuohy criticism and can’t for the life of me see what they are on about.
I do not get it.
Seen calls to be dropped to the two's. WTF.

Selwood said the rumours about the knee tendonitis are complete BS. Basically he is playing on the outside and tutoring Jordan Clark - said he will move back into the midfield at times during the season.
I'm sorry but I read this and image Selwood running along side Clark, pointing and coaching during the game. :D

Regardless of changes that have been talked about. The non negotiables this week are:
First qtr be on. Especially first 20 minutes.
Contested ball aggression. Show Dangerfield clips please.
Clearance work. Set up and be proactive.
Ruck- Stanley against newbie probably. Own it!
If we fall behind- faster ball movement out of defense. Run, handball, spread.
Try it if things are not working.

Must bring forwards into game! Goes back to contest & clearances.

Don’t allow their midfield to get huge numbers.

It’s all about aggression & intent!

Joel more time in guts for tougher opponent.
Cmon cats!

Speaking of Henry - think he has hit a flat spot. Used to play with a lot more flare and attack - seems that has been shaved off him. Whoever gave him that hospital handless owes him a few beers and a breakfast.
I thought he showed a bit more on Saturday
