Not too sure how many good games let alone one, Fletcher has played since that 2016 series TBH....guess us fans just have be lucky Fletch played well when it was needed in that 2016 finals series....sadly for Fletch other options now ahead of him..

I think Roberts has been judged very harshly, by both the match committee, and by quite a few posters on this forum, despite being a key member of our 2016 premiership side.

Lewis Young has played 9 games since debuting in round 17 last year, 8 of which I would assess as poor including at least 3 worst on ground performances, 2 of which arguably cost us close games and a finals spot.

Of course Lewis is still very young, has loads of potential (as displayed in his debut), and I hope he goes on to be a great player for us. However he is judged very differently to someone like Roberts, based on his age and lack of experience.

I want us to field the best team we can regardless of age, and on that basis, I think Roberts should have been in the team more often than he has been.

I’ve never been a fan of Roberts but I’ve always felt he could do a role as the third defender, similar to what Cordy will probably do, rather than being our number one defender which he clearly isn’t. With some reinforcements now back I’d be ok to see him get one more go given he is still contracted in 2019 to see if he can play a role on the lesser forwards, not on the big dogs like Buddy and Walker which he clearly can’t

Interesting game this one, not exactly contested giants either team may be a
massive game of keepings off. Expecting Greenwood to go to Macrae at this
early stage, but injury clouds and returning players cast a shroud over my
all seeing eye and I will have to wait for the teams. I would give a player to
watch, but he is in my Fantasy team so stuff that.

This and this. Thanks.

Fletcher unfortunately is not mobile enough.
Young is the future despite the negativity he seems to attract.

I really like Young but Roberts was coming along nicely. Had his best year in 2016 a premiership player and then lost some form and has been harshly treated as Proffessor says. We spent a lot of time developing him and then resign him but has hardly been sighted even when he is an obvious option to come into team because of injury. Not sure why he was resigned when it appears Bevo has lost faith.

You will always have players that just get resigned for depth and at the time we didn't have Naughton or Young. Even since 2016 forward lines ie Tigers have become smaller and more mobile so I think Roberts problem is that he isn't flexible enough to warrant getting ahead of the other two.

Does the Purple singlet that Tom Boyd is wearing signify anything?

There's a singlet which is given out based on the player that the team thinks was the best team player on the weekend. I guess the players thought that Boyd was that player

For mine wood and Morris come in, can’t see either playing through the 2s

Trengove is the other one, does Bev give him an extra week? He has mentioned in the past that we tend to give guys that extra week.

As for schache he’s 20, yes he’s kicked 6 goals in the past 2 week. It’s ok to keep a young tall developing in the VFL, let him keep gaining experience against guys his own age.

DON’T rush him

If Schache is not good enough to get a game, I understand, but it’s a little harder to rationalise how he’s not physically ready if he’s already played 27 games at senior level even if it is for one of the lesser performed clubs.

I would really like to see Cordy play forward now that we can bring in 3 experienced defenders

My changes would be:

Ins: Trengove Wood Morris
Outs: Naughton Webb Crozier

Williams Trengove Morris
Wood Young Suckling
Johannisen Hunter Wallis
Lipinski Cordy Daniel
Dahlhaus Bontempelli Gowers

Rucks: Boyd McLean Macrae

Int: Richards Dale Honeychurch Dunkley

I’m not sure why we would move Cordy out of defence. Really he is just about a ten year lock on the 2nd/3rd tall defensive position.

In my mind he shares some Glenn Archer traits, tough and aggressive with a team first attitude.

I'll be going - if I can grab a ticket. Heading to ADL for a business trip and will stay overnight. Looks like a very wet game, with 80% rain forecast?

At the moment most if not all rain during the day.

Collingwood spanked them in slippery conditions but i wouldn't rate us that highly in the same conditions
