Geez. Just when Mcstay was coming good. Almost having a breakout year. 2 weeks was far too harsh. Some will disagree. But I don't care. Langford out for Essendon is big too (copped a week), he was pretty good on the weekend (19 disposals, 2 goals) and having a pretty decent season.

What I don't get McStay's bump was twice as bad as Langford's:

Two weeks with an early plea for McStay. I'd be advising him to take it as I don't see it being overturned.

If I was the club I would appeal the high impact. The impact itself was mostly created by Jetta running into him. They should be able to get it down to low impact at the least.

I think it would be hard to argue against careless and high because whilst it was 90% caused by Jetta he did chose to bump. Surely we can get it down to 1 game.

Archie offers nothing unfortunately, Birchall may need a rest as well, if so Answerth in.

Hmm the 3 down to 2 with an early plea does make it risk but I would be confident of getting the impact down to low or medium. You cannot classify that as McStay making a high impact bump, Jetta made 90% the impact.

Actually scratch that, I don't think that is correct and I was confused from Fish's tweet. I'm pretty sure the old 3 weeks down to 2 with an early plea is gone and it is 2 regardless - it will just be expensive to challenge it.

Archie is just not up to it. Ballanden or Skinner for the ruck/forward as the McStay replacement. Oscar can handle the majority.

Witho is needed, IMO. Without both of Rich & Birchall, our new centre corridor game falls apart.

When you compare it to Langford's bump who got 1 I'd argue 2 weeks is stiff. Not a whole lot of difference.

I can see that, I guess the way they saw it was Langford's was a bit more on the side, made the difference between high and medium impact.

I reckon Brisbane would be in their right to challenge it. I wouldn't have classed that as High Impact (unless there are some corresponding medical reports or something from Melb to counter this) considering that Jetta played out the game? I assumed it would have been graded Medium Impact

On the radio Fagan was trying to avoid giving his opinion but seemed of the view that Jetta contributed to it significantly. So we may wish to challenge. However he did say that as a club struggling financially without the resources to undertake tribunal challenges unless for a very good reason we may make a call to just live with it.
