Pressure on Moore then, 1st game back from a broken collarbone and now he has to cover the input of our most effective tall forward over the last few weeks.

Disappointing that Marsh is injured, especially coming off his career best game to date, but Goldsack is an adequate replacement for him. One of Cloke or White was always going to be stiff to make way for Moore, but White is the unlucky one this week.

I almost wonder whether the club should have transitioned Moore back to the reserves before bringing him back to the side, but obviously they thought it would be beneficial for his development to play him in the seniors straight away.

The inclusion of Silvagni for Carlton seems to be driven by the idea of bringing in the crowds from a Carlton perspective, but apparently he had been playing well in the reserves. Let's hope we give him a big welcome to the AFL the way we did for Jack Watts in the Queens Birthday clash in 2009.

To me the White omission is a no brainer, whether it was this week or next or whatever doesn't fuss me.

not really, missing for large parts of last weeks game. marginally unlucky but he has been given plenty of games and he should know the heat is on.

rather than unlucky to be dropped this week , pull back and look at the big picture, look at body of work to games played.

not Jessie's biggest critic but he needs to be a little more consistent if he wants to be getting game every week , his form within games is very patchy. going long periods without influence. night games in the dead of winter do not play to his strengths.

Yep, least impact he's had over the last few rounds but with Fas gone he's just about our most important forward playing as a 3rd tall.

White is our best performed tall. Very unlucky to be dropped, I'd have played Moore in the VFL personally. At least for a week.

Goldsack an excellent in, bad luck Marsh.

Fas has been our clear best forward all year don't see how it can be the best if he's not included

Mixed feelings with the changes. Positives - no structural changes, Goldsack rewarded for good form. Negatives - Marsh injured, White unlucky.

As an exercise I tried to work out how far we are from our best side this week. I came up with

Out Phillips in Fasolo
Out Aish in Swan
Out Smith in Scharanberg

Could argue round the margins but we are still something like a third to a quarter off our best by my reckoning. Food for thought.

Really disappointing to promote a kid who has had a pretty tepid season to date purely as he's the "future" over a guy who has had a significant impact over numbers of weeks without even having to resume in the VFL. If Moore was playing as well as some seem to suggest then that's a different story, but that isn't the reality. The game against the Doggies was his best for the year (well for 3/4s anyway) so hopefully he can resume at that level.

Ok let's run with this, tell me a game in his career with the Pies that White has had a significant impact, maybe White is a bit stiff to be omitted but that's the reality of footy, like I said whether it's this week or the next or the next I will take Moore every day of the week over a White

Yep the main thing in Moores favour is that his form was slowly building. But on balance hes way overrated compared to his actual output, at this early stage of his career anyway. Hes definitely being fast tracked and I dont have a problem with that, but I dont think he deserves the "automatic selection" status after coming back from a one month layoff.
