Wasn't a great game today by Gibbo. I think put him on a half back flank against all those tricky dogs' forwards. Play him off one of the poorer ones.

Maybe Ed out... McMahon a defensive forward flank on Gilbee. Harris in for Ed.

Warren in for Smith.

Gibbo got caught out a couple of times in the midfield. But Gibbo is no where near dropping. No where near.

Sold into trouble in one instance, for which Hamish apologised.

Dunno. I like him in the back half on medium types and Buddy. He is a good defender. Just not sure he has the attributes to play around the footy. Very left sided and has quite a wind up in his kicking action shortenting the time he has to dispose of it.

No problem with trying things, though.

Exactly. He didn't look good in the midfield, but we know what kind of a defender he is. If someone else takes the big forwards, he will destroy quality mid sized forwards like medhurst every week. But I like the idea of at least seeing what he can do in the midfield...but I don't think it works. He ain't Spud.

Did you have Swallow? Dud.
Nah didn't have Swallow. Yeah he played well today. Especially inside which is his strength of which I acknowledged but lets not get carried away. Who did we play today?

But yah know me Zebs. If time proves me wrong I'll put my hand up and say I was wrong. Unlike a certain someone who thought that McConnell would be the find of the century.

c;mon mate, Dmac is long gone. I get the occassional one wrong like everyone else....but let's get in the present.

Next week will be an interesting test, because whilst the Bulldogs are a great side, I think one of their weaknesses is in their hard-ball get/clearance players.

And I still have my reservations about Swallow. One game doesn't make a season.

I'd have an inform Harris, a fit Smith, Anthony and Riggio in my best NMFC line up ahead of Swallow.

But good luck to the guy. I hope he keeps up his form of today for the rest of the season and proves me wrong.

Yeah it is just bewildering how Melbourne finished last in 2008.

I'm with Teffy on this one.

Their forward line and defense is pretty piss-poor, but their midfield doesn't suck too bad.

Brock McLean missed over a third of the season and the bloke that was probably BOG today, Brent Moloney, missed half of the 2008 season.

McLean, Jones, Moloney and Bartram (y'know the 21 year old kid that shut down Boomer today) are the most promising young clearance combination in the competition.

Unchanged. I thought Smith was a very good target when he was on, held some good marks, worked hard and presented well. Much better than last year. Gibbo wasn't great but if he is in the backline it means Spud can go into the middle.

No change.

I certainly wouldn't drop Smith. Having watched the full replay now, after being there today, he gave us a target and a contest, throwing his weight around and busting packs.

Lower has to stay in. Gilbee's his biatch!

I'd love to see Ross in. He's quality, as proven last year. Gibbo wasn't great. He'd have.to be somewhat vulnerable, if he's deemed a midfielder that is.

We'll need pace throughout the midfield rotation, if possible, bar the in and under hardnuts. Spitz deserves to remain, and that spot's the only one I see Harro filling, otherwise we're too slow.

Geez Anthony would've been handy for next week!

Benny Warren has to be close to getting a gig in the 1's, as does Levi.

Nah, not this week. Unchanged for mine.

Agree, no need for changes.
There will be 1 change i would think. Unchanged and Dean after that game?
Dropping Josh at this stage and for this game would be a mistake IMO. Gibbo if 1 had to rest/rotate, but wont happen. Want Grima in. Ross in. Harris in. Dont care how or why.
