“Omitted” “unlucky” “tough call” “squeezed out”

All words to describe Worrells omission.

Words that were missing:

“Conditioning” “cramp” “fitness”

Why do posters try to make up excuses rather than just give their opinion about Worrell being dropped?
Well, the coaches aren't going to say Worrell is still not AFL fit are they.......

Exactly and we've seen this story 2 times prior this year. All this confirms is Worrell isn t a best 22 player at the current time, and lost that spot to Michaelanny.

To go for your test, it is without a doubt Worrell plays if both Hinge and Smith are injured. Hard to say if one as we might prefer Parnell.
Yet there were numerous posters claiming he'd definitely be in and Nicks clearly had him in his best 22.

So what? You think we are lying in our statement? What’s to gain? If anything their statement brings scrutiny, a conditioning omission is easily justified.

And it’s not playing games, I’m picking apart furphies used to excuse a selection decision.

It’s really simple, if Hinge and Smith weren’t available would Worrell play?
In Darwin NO

Cook who has been playing in defence and showing serious improvement the last couple of games is an emergency and possibly the sub elect would have come in

Hard to say given he's not even listed as an emergency.

Seems strange though. Either the club sees a role for him in our current side or they don't. If they do then dropping him this week could only be on fitness, in which case why did he play last week?

I'd hate to think we're just treating him as a backup option in case Doedee leaves.
I’d say with 2 defenders back they can shuffle the team and don’t need a defender as an emergency, plus gives him another game rather than not playing any footy.

It’s obvious what they should have done, Sloane should have been rested.

Who does Worrell play in front of? Hinge and Smith are clear best 22 on 2023 form. He’s very stiff to miss, but this is what happens when your club has almost no injuries and is playing well.

Very different playing and travel conditions at TIO Stadium Darwin and Stratarama Stadium Glenelg this weekend for a player that had full body cramps last week coming off a 6 day break.

Sholl with Hinge or Smith off a wing.

But we should be rotating players to keep our team fresh... & this week imo should have been Sloane.

How doe McAdam play a similar role to Murphy
It’s who Murphy replaced when McAdam went out, they both play a pressure role, but McAdam is obviously a better goal scorer as well. It’s why I think when McAdam is fit and confident again that he will be best 22 before end of season.

Sholl is playing well and was good again last week. Sloane only played 60% game time last week, they’re clearly already managing his loads that way instead of resting him.

See above. Read the clubs selection statement.
I don't think he should have been dropped. I also think there's nothing to indicate it's conditioning. Fair enough that the club doesn't ocme out and say that a beginning, young player is "not fit enough, and couldn't run out a full game" though.

The woke mods banned my account. Couldn't handle me saying "go play with traffic".
Yeah, was always going to happen when king woke Elon started giving instructions...

Can we stop playing at all these random stadiums? Look I get it's Gold Coast, but at some stage they will be decent and might play finals and it would be get more experience playing at their home ground. Same applies in Vic - I can't believe we haven't played a single game in Melbourne yet. Ballarat can gagf and so can that mud hut stadium in that shithole in Geelong. Games at the G and Docklands thank you.
I'm in 2 minds about Darwin and Alice Springs

Annoyed me a bit when we were playing Melbourne there instead of the MCG

Reality is we have a good supporter base in the NT and our AFLW team came about because NT footy

This game would've only been played at Carrara otherwise
