Rance was dealt with a little harshly in my opinion and the only way for a player like him to get better is with experience. He deserves to come back in with him being the only decent Richmond player i thought running off the backline and also keeping Russel robertson without a shot on goal. Rance could be a good matchup on Newton/Jurrah

Agreed!
I also heard he played really well in the VFL!

So considering Foley is out for the Season and Silvester injured his knee I would say this:

Out: Foley, Silvester
In: Tuck, Rance

Surely we want Newton to kick at goal?

Besides the goal did Jake King do anything of any value? White and he had similar games I would have thought. Hislop stays he does the dirty work in the forward line.

In: Rance, Tuck

No need to have a negator Vs Melbourne in King lets bring in Tuck who wins his own ball.

I was really happy with how the team played last week and would be tempted to keep the same line up.

But i'd consider perhaps bringing in Putt and Thomson against Melbourne. Sydney brought in a newbie or two last week and it's the perfect opportunity for us too. Give Putty a taste so he will work even harder over preseason and knows what's required and it surely must be time to look at Thomson.

I wouldn't mind seeing Rance on Jurrah either. Silvestor will not be able to go with him for pace and agility. Ideal match up for Rance.

Out: King, Silvestor, Hislop
In: Putt, Thomson, Rance

I thought King had a really good game...I watched the replay yesterday and he tackled well got some free kicks and hit most of his targets and that running goal he kicked was superb. Kept Lovett to just the 17 disposals which was really good also.

Agree. I watched King closely last week and it's obvious has taken feedback on board and worked on his many weaknesses. No point bringing a guy in and then dumping him two weeks later when he's doing what he's been told he must do. Even his disposal was reasonable last week, although Essendon aren't exactly the most physical side in the comp.

King is suited to playing in the front half or as a tagger. He's a liability in defence though. If 10 players had to go at the end of the season he'd probably be one of the last to go. These last 5 weeks might decide whether he'll be on the list next year

Agree. It's obvious that Nahas and King put immense pressure on their defence last week and it's a trait in Rawlings' coaching that I have come to like - be accountable (see, it's not that hard Terry!).
Whether King should have been brought in or not is another debate altogether. Fact is he was brought back in for a reason and from what I've seen over the past fortnight, he has worked hard.
Whether that makes him a regular or not, I don't know. I still don't think he's up to it.

There's 6-8 players who should go before Kingy. His kicking has never been the problem, it's been his decision making in defence to go for dangerous kicks across goal. But up forward the occasional risk won't hurt anywhere near as much as it would in defence :thumbsu:

As much as I would like to see Kelv come back into the 22, I think he'll have to go via Coburg like everybody else.

Coburg's lineup is going to look pretty solid on Saturday.

But we can't have Hislop, King and Mcmahon in the same team
Only 1 of them. What about Thomson?

:thumbsdown:That clearly worked against us last week, didn't it!!!

Why change a winning combo.

I'd like to see Rance in, Sylvester out if we make a change, but wouldn't be unhappy if the Big Cat was retained and Rance was forced to remain at Coburg and put in another big effort!!!

Oh Righto Goldenboy

hislop has to go, anyone can come in.

they are only playing melbourne so should win by at least 5 goals whatever team they select since they cant afford to win.

I'd rather see Slop in the team than N.Brown.

He looked like a fish out of water last week. Too often his opponents pushed forward with him no where to be seen. Was he even manning anyone up in the dying stages of the match.

I honestly think he should consider himself very lucky if he stays in this week, let alone gets a contract for next year.

Didn't anyone here watch the game?

King played well. I think he was even named in the best.

Whoever on here said his disposal improves while on the run was right. He is a good kick but not from a standing start. I saw him hit a few difficult targets and stick some solid tackles as well as kicking a goal.

Exactly Mads, people around these parts get stuck in their own views of a player and do not let anything change that opinion.

King DESERVES another game after last week. If you are going to be telling a player to go out, do everything he is supposed to and be featured in the best you DO NOT drop the player.

So far in his career he has shown he is a fringe player. 100% correct, but he has played a couple of good games the last two weeks, give him a chance just like you give every other player that plays for the yellow and black. He might surprise some of you.

I'd Love to see Rance back in the side, he really towled up Robbo on the Weekend.

Out: Sylvester
In:Rance

Also Tuck woud have to come into consideration 40 touches and 6 tackles, who goes out for him though.
