Odds on McInnes getting dropped due to the weather and also despite some good signs so far he's just not getting enough of it, particularly when you consider the number of inside 50s we've had in recent weeks.

He has averaged 15 possessions and 6 marks in the last 3 weeks

As a rookie KP player - that is more than reasonable

Given the benefit he adds to our structure (allowing Hill to play small) plus the risk we face playing against taller forward lines - McInnes inclusion remains important

At present we have 8 defenders plus another in Selwood who can pinch hit back.. If we are to remove a player it is likely a small defender and given one of those has been red vested two weeks in a row - i'm betting he is the one who goes out

Agree fully. Whoever mentioned his lack of ball with all our inside 50's, that doesn't really tell the story. Especially as a CHF majority of your disposals would/should be a little further up the ground. He is more important to our structure, than the amount of kicks/marks he takes. I do worry a bit when Darling is ready to go, we go back to playing him at CHF, where he is not suited.

Disagree - think Jack and JK could easily spend time rotating through the position.

Unless you had someone elite (like McGovern) playing a 4th tall forward would be madness IMO

Yeah that's my worry, we bring in Darling & drop McInnes, Darling gets towelled up at CHF, like he has in the past, and we go back to 213/14 bomb it in style. I know they all can't play in the same team, but I feel McInnes adds a bit more as a CHF, than Darling will. Ideally I would have liked to see McGovern play CHF, and Darling on a flank, but that won't happen, so we'll have to wait and see if both Darling & McInnes can play in the same team.

Darling gets no more towelled up than most other CHF

Put him in front of Yeo, Duggan, Shuey et al and our improved midfield and he will be fantastic again

The bloke managed to go through an entire season as our key forward take the best defender each week and still and kick a goal in every game - that is some feat as a 20/21 year old

McInnes has played his role for the team and yet to play in a losing team so on superstitious reasons alone , keep playing him .

Where is Lamb going to play in the side when he is ready after the bye ... so many questions really now ?

That year when JK was out for majority of it (2012) we still had Lynchy, playing CHF almost every week. Darling played out of the goal square, and more in the full forward line with Hill rather than a lead up CHF. Granted he would have switched with Lynchy every now and then, but it's not like he was our 1 & only forward that year.

I'm not having a go at him, far from it, it will be great to get him back in the side, I just don't reckon he is best suited to CHF.

In the end, Simmo knows far better than me, so I trust he'll have the correct position for him when he's ready.

In the WAFL

Tunbridge, Lamb and McInnes only got games due to injuries to Darling and the requirement for Gov to play back

I don't see a spot for Lamb (in the best 22)unless he can develop a big running game and play on the wing

Yeah I got my info via NicNat... A mate of mine is on the plane, might be wishful thinking to see if he can spot who isnt on it, moreso now that its probably mid-flight

So i is officially Bennell, Colledge out for Sheed and Yeo.

Guessing one of Selwood/Sheed/Duggan get the vest

Spot on. Yeo and Sheed in for Colledge and Bennell, at North it's Swallow, Jacobs and McMahon IN for Turner, McDonald and Atley. Atley really they only omission of note after bigger changes were forecast from North. Like the fact that McMahon has been selected, bloke is on his last legs as a AFL player

I'll guess one of Selwood or Sheed for SUB. Hopefully another full game for Dugg.
