We have probably been hit with injuries just as much as you guys tbh.
Slowly coming good now but still missing Higgins, Waite, Wright, Jacobs, Garner, Turner, Mcdonald.
We also lost Swallow & Cunnington for the game against the Hawks that we should of won if not for inaccuracy.
I think Goldy is finally starting to get over his niggles and Daw being in the side this week to give him a chop out will only help.

With respect, if you're going to go through the coming seasons getting disappointed when Shaun Higgins goes down with an injury, you're due for a whole lotta disappointment.

What the hell happened to the famous Norf medical staff???!!!! You know - those dudes who resurrected Higgins career and who give Norf an edge over the rest of the competition...

With Moz and Boyd back I dont think Adcock has a spot.

For me itd probably be something along the lines of in Boyd, Moz, Hrovat and Webb (both to get more time in their preferred roles in the midfield) out Adcock, Hamling, Macrae, Libba.

Moz slots in down back and Cordy spends most of the game forward, lets see if its a legitimate option going forward, he definitely has the attributes for a hard working CHF. Still wouldnt mind seeing Hamling continue in the role though just needs to play there at VFL level and put some good performances in, not sure whats happened to him this year I still see a decent AFL level kpp in him.

Havent really been bothered posting here much over the last few weeks. This seasons just been one massive kick in the balls after another. I strongly feel that if wed have stayed fit we could have gone all the way. But either way we have acheived so much already this year. And its not over yet. Like Bev said try telling the players the seasons over. We can still do damage. I ******* love this club

Not sure why so many seem keen on dropping Adcock. He was excellent last week, and should keep his spot.

Neither Cordy or Hamling looked comfortable or threatening up forward. Clay Smith also hasn't fitted in well up forward particularly in the last two matches, and when tried in the midfield against the Cats continued to struggle.

I would like to see Minson, Webb, Hrovat, and Dale come in for Hamling, Libba, Macrae, and Smith.

If Morris and Suckling are not fully fit, I would prefer that we didn't take any risks with them.

Id love to see Stringer played predominantly midfield for the next few weeks. He's giving us almost nothing forward, we're locked in to finals and can't make top 4, so lets give it a whirl. Might get him going, and give us a better idea of how he can handle it in case we want to employ it again down the track.

The key to Stringer being more effective up forward is to have another primary marking target (e.g. Boyd) to take the focus of him. Don't mind rotating Jake through the midfield occasionally, but our attack looks a lot weaker without him.

Smith? Madness. Will be one of our most important players come finals time. He needs to play every week to build his match fitness. In his defence he wouldn't have been expected to play midfield if the others had stayed on the park.
In Morris Boyd Webb
Out Hamling Libba Macrae
Would also consider Minson against Norths tall timber

Taking out Smith for Dale o_O

7 tackles and 1.1 against the saints
6 tackles and 1.1 against the cats

One bloke plays like a man and the other a mouse and when you are in a game against thugs like Thompson Firrito and co I know who Id much rather in the trenches

Professor has an irrational hatred for Smith for some reason (bigger than his irrational love for Minson), calls for his head every week. Just ignore.

Smith seems to do his best work when he doesnt have the ball - including getting to the right spots in the forward line.

But I wish he could find more of the ball. Playing as a small forward can be like that though - it can be hard to find the pill.

Play Smith as the defensive forward that Picken has been playing, and give Picken more midfield time, I reckon.

Adcock gets to the right spots I suppose, but he is terrible in the contest, and just treacle slow. He is like a slower Suckling, without the deadly left peg. Ive got no probs at all with Morris and Boyd coming back in and Adcock going back tot he 2s.

Good list but I raise you a Murphy, Wallis, Macrae, Libba, Boyd, Suckling, Adams, and Campbell with Dahlhaus, Stevens, Boyd, Johanissen, Daniel, Maclean, Wood, Dickson, Hrovat, Cordy, Smith and R.Smith missing large chunks of the year and Stringer and Morris carrying niggles. While much of our depth is either injured in Honeychurch, Redpath, Prudden, Collins or playing.

We win. But I wish we didn't.

Fair to say you guys have had a tough run in the last month but all clubs have injuries.

Fair to say we've also had more injuries since.

Libba
Redpath
Wallis
Morris (coming back this week)
Boyd (coming back this week)
Suckling (coming back next week maybe)
Macrae
Adams

I know every club has their injuries however, I think because we are starting to be a bit more successful and getting places, and the injuries are stopping us from getting to the next level.

Last month...? We played most of the first half of the year without 4 of our first choice backline.
Yet still were top 4 two weeks ago until we were severely hit. While having one of the youngest lists in the league. You guys fell into a heap after a couple which is to be expected when you rely on geriatrics and Higgins.
Show some respect.

Sheesh, my post wasn't disrespectful in anyway whatsoever.

Have a lie down mate, your blood pressure must be off the charts.

Of course it was disrespectful. Telling me that every team has injuries like it's some sort of revelation. If you had any nuance or forethought you'd have read the list I gave and understood what it means for a team that fields mostly players who have barely played 100 games. Instead you gave me a superficial banality.

Also thanks for the concern but my blood pressure is perfect actually. Then again I'm much younger than the old folks home you call a team.

Actually I gave you an article full of stats from Champion Data showing their AFL injury ladder in mid-July and made the further comment granting the fact that the Dogs had experienced a tough month of injuries since the article was written.

Comprehension goes a long way.

The irony of your last line seems lost on you.
I find that particularly humorous.

I'm just glad you're relaxed and happy again, you're too young to be going off like that.

You did hurt my feelings with those "geriatric, old folks" remarks, but I'm old enough and wise enough to know you didn't really mean it.

My concerns regarding Smith relate to his limitations which many supporters seem to overlook because of their respect for his courageous approach to the game.

5 clangers out of 15 disposals against the saints,
and 3 clangers out of 11 disposals against the cats.

My view is that Smith is a high work rate style midfielder who is currently not fit enough to play that sort of role in our senior midfield. I'd prefer that he try to regain that sort of fitness and form in the VFL, rather than taking up a spot that he is not particularly suited to in our forward line.

One of the reasons that he has so many tackles is that he doesn't get to the ball first often enough.

Dale is a very different sort of player to Smith but I think our forward line needs his sort of attributes to provide a more balanced attack than we have been fielding in recent games.

The problem with that ladder is this: go look at the standings of Toby McLean, clay Smith and Marcus Adams in the player ratings. All three are easily best 22 and all play important roles, including match winning roles in some cases. But they'd probably barely crack the 300. Which means they don't affect that ladder much.

Ciao
I was always relaxed and happy. I was doing something I love. Schooling a moron.

Dude you're expecting nuance from someone who has shown that they have none.
