We aren't in the game to make friends when there are academy and cap rorts going on, but thanks John
Its been interesting to watch the trajectory of Collingwood since Eddie took his hands off the wheel and began his marathon, northern academy tantrum.

Whiners are rarely winners.

I wouldn't say they're interesting. Just overrated and run by an out of date administration. Another non year of finals. A wasted list. A coach who, well, can't coach. A president who can't stay out of hot water. Two overrated recruits in treloar and aish. A captain out of sorts and a key position forward playing VFL.

LOL Treloar's been our best player this year. He's underrated if anything.

Why are they on the list then? They've been retained ahead of other players who've been specifically exited. Surely "depth" is the only explanation and in an injury ravaged year they should therefore be playing.

Goldsack's been injured and Toovey's gotten games, I think Toovey's performed the depth role perfectly. Maccaffer is just passed it. Tagging role is outdated, lost his agility to be a defensive forward and doesn't have the nous to make up for it.

Maccaffer when fit in the past has been best 22 and Buckley rated him before, I didn't but I'm just trying to understand his reasoning.

Unlike the Melbournes and Carltons of this world, who have gone from powerhouses to shithouses, Colingwood will always find a way to reinvent itself. The club doesn't dwell in the cellar for too long.

I hope this post isn't quoted in the future.

Can you nominate a period longer than 6 or 7 years where we haven't been at the top half of the ladder?

Anything can happen in the future, I really hope your posts don't backfire.

It's a good question.

It wasn't long ago that my mob were in tatters, things are never as bad as they seem.

Which raises an interesting question. If we (from one of our lowest points in recent years) can turn it around quickly - why the continual slide under Buckley ?? For mine, I think he is tactically inflexible and the players have switched off the message - but this is based upon limited viewing - so keen to know what others think.

Big clubs, with money and resources - shouldn't have a 5 - 6 year, year-on-year decline.... It's not even stagnation - it's an annual decline. Either Collingwood don't know how to fix it or are unwilling to make the necessary changes...

That's pretty accurate.
