Taking nothing away from Collingwood, who were great, West Coast were pretty terrible after 1/4 time. Correct me if i'm wrong, but they kicked 5 goals in the 1st qtr and ended up with 9 goals. 4 goals in 3 qtrs is pretty bad. Also, they had about 2 or 3 players who would actually go at a contest, the rest stayed back and waited for the ball to come to them. Dayne Beams was amazing, and I wouldn't mind if he won the Brownlow

Other than the fact that we're the 1 team Sydney probably didn't want to have to face?

Wouldnt hang my hat on that....in fact, being competitive elite athletes, they may well think the exact opposite.

As for the #1 team line....take your hand off it.

Embley, Shuey, Naitanui and Kennedy really did nothing for the majority of the game, probably shouldn't have won given how Cwood dominated them in the 3rd, but, when they hit the front in the last they really should have held on, and it was once again a senior player in Embley who totally killed all momentum.

Kerr = BOG I shudder to think how much WCE would have lost by if they didn't have this man playing, already has both his shoulders held together by some pieces of tape yet he carried that team the whole night and was knocked around something shocking.

Embley's shank, Darling's miss, Schofield running into an open goal and missing it. Clearly just goes to show that against good sides you can't afford shit like that.

Hopefully we can have a better run with injuries next year.
Bit harsh to pick guys out, Collingwood missed easy goals, blew easy chances going forward and dropped chest marks galore.

Good stat! :thumbsu:

I meant which one came off an easy prelim and which came off a tough encounter.

Last year Pies had a tough prelim, Geelong cruised.

2007...Geelong had a 5 point win in the Prelim over a hard edged Collingwood....and won the GF by 119 points....

Crows were Sydney's hoodoo team as well.

Collingwood are physically spent, lucky to get over the line tonight. Even if they do somehow manage to win next weekend the Hawks will obliterate them the following week

Seriously

Embley - Hopeless
Lynch - Hopeless
Priddis - Hopeless
Glass - Ineffectual
Cox - Went missing as the game wore on

These blokes aren't getting any younger. Thank god they had Kerr playing.

Natanui isn't Cox by any stretch either.
I thought Glass was pretty good, but yeah those players are certainly coming to the end of their careers. Plenty of young talent on the list that would have learnt a hell of a lot the last two finals series though.

Pretty apt summary. NicNat still not putting in consistent footy away from home. Kennedy never really got into any form coming back from injury.
