Proves my point, wanting someone to drag a conversation point from your board over on to our board so you can engage in it here.

Don’t think your D grade post is somehow slick and went unnoticed.

If you want to talk about Oscar Allen and potentially targeting him for free agency, you should probably do it on your board, and not ours.

Especially given Oscar’s contract hasnt once come up in all my time on this board.

You are on an oppo board, and should reman concious of that.

Except, apart from one reply to another poster, I haven't engaged in conversation here about him. I barely engaged in conversation on our board, apart from saying what other posters here have already said, can't see it happening. My replies to you have been about you making out my post say one thing, instead of what I've actually said. Again, that's either demonstrating your poor comprehension skills, or you deliberately trying to make them in to something their not.

I would love to see the Poll for the 2nd half of the season, excluding Smilie who the board wants out of

FOS,
Smith,
Draper,
Trainor; and Moraes / Hotton / Lalor
Agreed for after the champs. Very difficult to make an informed call when we’ve barely seen FOS and Draper to date.

Interestingly just had a look back at our drafting history. Amazing how well we’ve generally done with our 1R and 4R/rookie draft vs doing relatively poorly with our 2R/3R picks.

At this stage Draper feels like a safer choice.

He looks like a professional, rock solid, accumulator of the footy.

No nonsense , no flashy stuff which is what we need.

I'd be happy if we call his name out.

Something they’re* not.

Since you want to talk about comprehension.

There’s zero surprise Lions would want to target Oscar given Lions forward line consists of plebs (Hipwood and Rayner), mercurial halfwits (Daniher) and your one good forward isn’t exactly the most popular bloke at your club, needs the cash for his huge gambling problem and wants out as soon as he can.

Lions can join the line with 16 other clubs who would be trying to get Oscar as a free agent.

Oscars free agency hasn’t been a topic of conversation on this board, so if you want to talk about Oscar, feel free but maybe do it in the thread where that conversation is occurring i.e on your own board.

Want to see is get to a point of having a resting midfielder in our forward line at all times and Draper will help with that .

Draper/Reid being able to play up forward will help Reid out a ton

They either trade with us for pick 3 or we bid on him at pick 3.

Thats how I'd be going if his form and fitness remains at this level.
This only works if Gold Coast want to take two players in this draft, and you are also trading them back sufficient picks/points for them to be able to match Lombard at a later bid. And you are happy trading back to where ever GC's top two picks land at the end of the season.

Otherwise GC are happy to take Lombard where ever the bid is made, and trade out their first round picks to other teams that offer more favorable trades.

Their midfield is stacked, their academy will be supplying them most of their list needs next year, wingers and halfbacks. Their one other need is a developing gorilla lock down defender, which is they can find later in the draft.

Lombard dominated that half, if you took him out of the Allies lineup they would look very average. Uwland has been impressive for the Allies too.

WA hanging in there looked like they could fall away at times but seem to be finding a way back into the contest.

Urquart has been busy and a quality goal.

Champion looks dangerous but I worry about his size and pace or lack of both for the next level.

Lots of good underage prospects for WA will be an interesting draft year next year. Kelly, Banfield, Rodriguez, Curtin and Evans have all looked good at times.

He'd be a small forward or half forward at senior level. They don't need to have the biggest build, and with the odd exception, most kids can put on the required bulk/muscle in their first two or three offseasons.

He is worth pick 10-15 this point. If I’m Gold Coast I just let it be and understand we are not dumb enough to actually pick him up ie. call our bluff

He is firming as a top 10 pick and stocks are rising.

And as I posted it depends if he continues at the same rate / form.

Both Suns picks will definatly be affected by him with or without our bid so they will be looking at the best deal to manage that.

Stocks are rising but you think he is a top 5 like player yet ?

Give it 3 months and you could be correct for sure but today I don’t think that trade exists.

Also not 100 Percent sure we should slip out of the top 5 myself. Quite wary of the difference between a Draper and Moraes myself

So you think he will go after the Suns two 1st round picks?

And those two picks wont be taken out on a bid for him?
I think Gold Coast get we wouldn’t take him over Draper or even O’Sullivan (are we certain that Richmond don’t go Trainor?) as the more important thouht

I think it’s like 50/50 ish call outside of that. I like the trade, disagree on our ability to do it. Just wishful thinking

If the draft was tomorrow, Lombard gets a bid close enough to GCS first and second pick that they trade them not a shadow of a doubt. Task is going to be getting them to trade up, not down and into next year where they are going to need as many points as last year and with tighter controls likely.

Uwland will go high next year too. They will have a draft strategy for getting both Lombard and Uwland in whilst maximising there points. I doubt it will include West Coast.

Hewett and Reid swapping forward mid is what Im very much looking forward to.
