It's not. It's the softest shit trade in recent memory.
But the club never had 14 and it looks like the direction was to do whatever it takes to satisfy Richmond for Baker. That means splitting for picks in the teens.

We had 3 , 14 and a F2 in the bag....we balls up 14 and F2 by not pulling trigger on Barrass we are now giving pick 3 for Baker and a guy who wasn't being offered a contract ... in exchange for pick 12...missing out on FOS, Smith, Lalor , Smilie, Langford, Travaglia etc.... and were helping Richmond rebuild faster than us. Is it too late to pull out of this deal and just go to the draft with 3 and 26?

I know I'm probably got a whack for this (being on an oppo board), but this was my first thought when they do the post-trade period interviews with all the list managers...

Having spent a (bit) (or lot! ) of time on the Adelaide board, Don did cause a bit of damage at his time there… I have had some reservations about him as a result, but hoped that after time at Sydney and reflection, he may have changed.

The strategy or lack thereof is just bizarre. It does appear to be a short term boost to competitiveness over a more long term outlook.

Our club has not (nor has ever) really listened to supporters/members, they do what they want when they want. I’ve come to terms with that a long time ago.

Back to hoping for the best now.
