My big concern is that I haven't seen a full game where he has been "dominant". As an example, by Y2 Darling already had a few 5 goal games. Yes, he is AFL quality, but we will be paying star trade price and superstar salary for potential.
Jackson's still learning how to play as a key forward by the looks. I doubt he would have spent much time playing KPF in juniors before being drafted, I might be wrong.

He's definitely got more ability as a follower than a forward, but has lacked chances to fully build momentum as a full time ruckman due to sharing time with Gawn. Like NN his follow up work once the ball hits the ground and contests are created is absolutely elite for a ruckman. Unquestionably IMO.

Unlike NN he doesn't have that ridiculous ability to dominate taps, so I think for that reason some people don't see what's so special. He has a big leap, but for some reason doesn't use it like to the extent NN does in centre bounces.

You seem quite cynical about comments on the strength of the 2023 draft. It is not the greatest draft ever - I cannot recall anyone stating that.

What it does have that this year does not have is a op KPP's that look top end and some really good mids. The expected outcome will be that the top 10 in 2023 will look more like the top 10 of 2018.

I actually like the draft this year but it does not have the 5 to 8 players at the pointy end. I think it feels more like the 2016 and 2017 draft top end. Again, loads of good players in both these years but the top end not outstanding.

I'm just more interested in getting decent now than 12 months as you can have no idea what happens.

Jackson being criminally underrated by some on here. Would do him for 2 in a heartbeat.
If it was for pick 2 only then yeah you'd have to consider it very very strongly.

But I can't see it just being pick 2. He's a high draft pick whose value has only gone up in the three years he has been in the system.

TK has nothing to do with us not having a top 10 pick.

The farm we apparently sold there is grossly over-exaggerated

Facts are important

Except if you’re a part of the AFL media then they’re something to be used loosely or not at all

It may not have been a cattle ranch, but it was not a poor man's hobby farm either.

Draft points value comparison is somewhat subjective, but the TK points give up exceeded the value of the #1 draft pick; and that does give some idea of what we paid. #1 draft pick plus = That's still a decent sized farm if you ask me.

Both for 2 years

I also like this from Naitanui

Naitanui has constantly been around the club since the end of its season as he focuses on getting himself ready for what looms as a big – and important – pre-season.

“I had my surgery a couple of weeks ago and I have been in here most days doing my rehab and getting myself ready for the pre-season,” he said.

The fact that they openly state in the first paragraph that both deals are for two years just makes it all the more baffling that they withheld that info when announcing Jamieson and Jones.

I think it depends on what Freo have to offer. Pick 2 trumps anything they have, so unless dees value quantity over quality, pick 2 potentially more than we need to offer.

Reckon Dees would go pick 2 and maybe a third or future 3rd would get it done. Be better than anything Freo will be come up with but Jackson has to want to come to us

Could be a player request? "hey please dont disclose the length" type thing from the individual player?
