PA think they can poach Rioli with an oversized, generous contract and then virtually get him for free because we are such weak traders. Sadly, they are correct with all these assumptions.

Amongst our many other re-structures we need a hard nosed list manager.
You think that - we have no idea what Port are thinking. Most trades of this nature are nuanced and complex with win-win outcomes.

No idea how and why Cooney got a gig in the media. The standards of footy media is quite low but Cooney doesn’t add anything of value at all. It’s been well reported tge club isn’t trading pick 2 at all.

It's the media's loss that they don't have Obeanie on board who would do a far better job of these outlandish multi-team trade proposals.

Not strictly true, Pieman has said he's happy to bundle for more picks, but not get it outright.

?
In regards to that supposed megatrade.. are they really suggesting Hawthorn give up pick 6 and a THIRD rounder to get pick 2 AND 20? What the blue hell am I missing????? Surely he's been on the Junior Pipe this morning. Absolute numpty.

Hope Meek stays.

I hope absolutely nothing changes for Cockburn re their big men like Meek and Lonb. If they get Jackson, Meeks value will totally plummet further as he sits in the WAFL.

Meanwhile Lobb won't have another blue moon "career year" like he did in 2022, their strategy of holding him is going to backfire when his value inevitably also drops.

I’d be interested to hear what you think we can do to force Port to offer a better deal

As it stands, we don’t know what they’ve offered, if anything. Rioli is uncontracted so we can’t control where he goes nor can we force Port to offer something

Our one bargaining chip is the nuclear option of refusing to agree to a trade and forcing Rioli into the PSD. In that instance we get zilch

All we can do for now is what we’ve been doing and that is reinforcing what we believe to be his trade value

Hard to take Bell at face value when he says Lobb and Meek are going nowhere, but they’re also trying to bring in Jackson and Corbett.

What the hell are they going to do with Darcy, Jackson, Lobb, Meek, Corbett, Taberner and Treacy all in the squad?

33 for Rioli is reasonable in my books. We are not getting screwed on this.

2, 20, 26, 33, 40 a good draft hand.

Considering we selected Hough (31) and Bazzo (37) we have shown we can extract some solid Best 22 future depth with Picks outside the obvious early choices.

We should have at least 3 players from this draft in our next premiership side.
Split pick 2.

Bundle 20/ 26/ 33 in any combination for an upgrade in the first round.

Then have 3 first round picks and one for later on.

I reckon there's every chance if a player goes to the PSD, Lobb may well next season.

For 2 and 20 I’m taking 6 and 7 not Jackson

That can't possibly be serious, obviously cooneys a complete and utter moron but even by his standards that just stupid.

Good thing the pie man is in Melbourne right now, might get distracted by this article that just popped up on Perth Now otherwise...

P.S. big thumbs up from me for Mount Barker Country Bakery, absolute must try if you're ever in the area.

Can anyone read this??

Yeah, it says:

BREAKING: The Lions and GWS have agreed on a pick swap that could pave the way for Josh Dunkley to join Brisbane.

The word on the Bowes thread seems to be that he is likely to nominate Hawthorn. Giving them 6 and 7. Makes the option of a split very interesting.
Bowes to Hawthorn is probably the best result for us. Far more palatable than him going to Geelong and it does open up an attractive pick split option - 2 and 20 for 6 and 7 would be nice

Worst case is hawthorn do a deal with North for pick 1 and they’ll take Sheezel giving us a choice between Cadman and Wardlaw or another pick split option
