Is Hotton too great a reach at 8? Will he last to 12? Would live Humphrey hotton Hewitt

A good mix of the Triple H. Then grab Hustwaite at 20

I think we will do something like
8 - Busslinger
12 - Hewett
20 - Keeler
26. - Cowan( not sure he'll last)

8&12 could go either way, I figure we take buss first given he is best kpd. Hopefully Hewett is still there (Geelong are a threat for Buss but should take Clark, though Hewett
could be gone too)
I have Keeler and Cowan as sliders, project ruck and best hbf

If we could trade 26 and ports future 2nd for somewhere between 12-20 then we just about guarantee those 4. This gives best kpd, WAs best mid, best hbf, best potential ruck/fwd from the draft Then add in Hunt Culley, Chesser, Allen that gives us plenty to be excited about.

And whilst we're talking draft I still think Wardlaw goes before Cadman. Which could mean Nth go Cadman and Busslinger for key posts🤔
Honestly, I see that as the start of Cowans range. 25-40.

OK, my take from what I've read/heard on who goes where and who might be left for us.

1 Bris - Ashcroft
2 GWS - Cadman - Seems to obvious reason to move up
3 NM - Wardlaw - They have heaps of mids so taking a punt on an injury risk for his upside is possible
4 NM - Busslinger - Enough mids and need an interceptor
5 Ess - ??
6 GC - Hollands - Been rumored to join his brother all year
7 Haw - ??
8 Geel - Clark
9 WC - ??
10 STK - McKenzie
11 Carlton - ??
12 WB - ??
13 WC - ??

That leaves Phillipou, Tsitas, Sheezal, Humphries, Ginbey and Hewett as the most likely to go in the spots in question.

Much will depend on who NM take at 4 then Ess at 5 and Haw at 7.
In this scenario, Bombers would take Sheezel in a heart beat.

I still think though, Norf will take Sheezel - they got Logue and have McKay, so KPD is a lesser need.

If Gold Coast don't take Busslinger, they should fold.

Yeah, bit of a reach at 8 and should definitely be there at 12.

Lucky we are not in that sort of position, wait, all clubs are. Picture Melbourne without Gawn and Grundy

The difference is both Lycett and Dixon missed massive chunks of footy this year and are over 30.

We definitely have the same issue. But we aren't expecting to push for top 4- 6 like i imagine Port are aiming for.

Again, if you aren't getting paid full price would you not take what you have an go to the draft?

Our goal isn't to assist other clubs achieve their goals, our goal is to make sure that if we are going to entertain offers from other clubs to help broker these deals, that we are getting paid way overs to do so, otherwise, don't bother

We seems to have very little idea of negotiating and leverage. Another club makes a proposal to us and we meekly say "yes sir" and roll over

It is frustrating because this team seems to be permeated by the stench of weakness across all levels of the club at the moment

I don’t think Picks 5 + 7 gets greater players than Pick 8 + 12 when I look at the draft , it seems reasonably even or only marginally better..

I'm looking forward to the melts when we sneak in and trade ports second rounder next year for pick 7 and Jack Bowes this year.

"Port Adelaide has offered Pick 33 for Geelong big man Esava Ratugolea, reports The Age’s Peter Ryan.

The Power nabbed Pick 33 as part of Monday’s historic mega grade as they now turn their attention to landing Ratugolea, who’s contracted for next season but seeking more senior opportunities.

While Geelong has said it’s keen to retain Ratugolea, the Cats could use Pick 33 as valuable currency to get a deal done with Collingwood for Ollie Henry.

Speaking on AFL Trade Radio, Power footy boss Chris Davies admitted talks with Geelong for Ratugolea so far have been “pretty slow to be honest.”

“We have got pick 33 now, and that is the pick we have earmarked for Esava if that is what Geelong is willing to take for him,” he said."

We let this happen. Us. Our complete lack of balls let Port hold onto pick 33 and will likely mean, that because of us, they have got Rioli, JHF and Esava to their club

Seriously, we may as well start a collaboration with Pjur or Vaseline so at least we get some lubricant next year
We got Port's future second, which has much more value than 33, which we probably wouldn't have used anyway.

Who cares?

Trading 40 for F3 better be worth it (deeper draft etc).
If we hypothetically hold picks 4, 22, 30 (Port), 40 & 48 (Port), we may not even use the Port F3 depending on list spots.
But should have plenty to clear out along with Hurn & Shuey retirements.

Interestingly someone asked PMbangers to rate in order both this draft and last draft. Here’s what he went with.

1. Daicos
2. Wardlaw
3. Ashcroft
4. Horne-Francis
5. Callaghan
6. Darcy
7. Tsatas
8. Gibcus
9. Cadman
10. Andrew

11. Sheezel
12. Mackenzie
13. Erasmus
14. Clark
15. Hobbs
16. Ward
17. Amiss
18. Busslinger
19. Phillipou
20. Humphrey

Wardlaw at 2. I like it. Hope Norf do the smart thing and take Cadman

For those that haven’t followed this years talent pool it shows why some guys are suggesting McKenzie Clarke or Phillipou at pick 8 and then go Hewitt or Ginbey at 12.

If we do end up with Ginbey, Hewett and Allen, we’re going to have the biggest midfield in the comp in a year or two when you combine them with Culley, Chesser and Hough. They’re all big bodied mids (Hough has to put on a few kegs but he’s tall), who can cover the ground well and have a degree of explosiveness.

Super intrigued by Allen. He's bloody enormous and as quick as they come. Think more than a few clubs would be interested now that he blitzed that 20m sprint time

This 'logic' (more like rationalisation) overlooks the fact that Dean kemp went at pick 92 - why rush?
