John Doe is a self-employed AFL reporter with less than 2,500 Twitter followers and has been doing this since July 2021.

Yep, I am sure The Pieman had intimate discussions with him.

I can certainly thank you for such an insightful post. Well researched and with such credibility.

Are you expecting every post on BigFooty to be referenced and sourced directly from the the Pieman or Nisbett? In that case why don’t we all just stop discussing until we see the results of the draft.

My prediction (not what I hope)

Cadman GWS
Ashcroft BRIS
Wardlaw NTH
Sheezel NTH
Phillipou ESS
Humphrey GC
Tsatas HAW
Clark GEE
Ginbey WC
McKenzie SAINT
Hollands CARL
Busslinger BULL
Allen WC
Jefferson MELB

Sources say we’re getting Ginbey

Humphrey, Tsatsas and to a lesser extent Busslinger are they keys to our draft hand.

If 2 are taken before our pick we end up with a pretty good choice of players. If not we end up with those guys replacing Mackenzie, Clark or Ginbey as possible selections for us (which wouldn't be ideal).

But if we are forced to let those guys slide past us, then Stk, Carl, Dogs likely take them leaving one 'live' pick between our 2. Guaranteed one of Allan, Busslinger or Hewett if we rate all 3.

Suns were dumping Bows. End of story. Pick 7 was the price and that was announced prior to the mega trade. So we were never getting 5 and 7 off the Suns.

The price for jumping up from 2 to 3 would probably of cost you pick 15 or 18. GWS were not liking third choice and like the Suns, they value picks less that traditional clubs.

If the price was pick 15 to jump ahead, would you still do it? That is the sort of premium that comes with the best KPF you guys crave.
Exactly. I think most of us that followed trade week closely understand why what happened happened.
There are others that are trying to spin there own version of events on it to have a whinge and chip at the club.

I need to ignore those that are still bitching about the pick swap 😂

No but why do you bother putting up a tweet from a nobody and think it is relevant?

A little screening would be welcome. Then your posts might gain more credibility.

Freo F1 likely to be around 12-15 and with Melbourne I'd value their F1 as 18. Given that, I would be asking for this year's pick 13 in addition and then give them back a future second (somewhere in the early to mid 20's).

It would give Brad Scott a year to work out what he wanted to do with 3 first rounders in 2023.

Agreed, that current reported offer is nowhere near good enough for a top 5 pick, and is a fair way worse than the one we accepted, which is the point i was making to the post I responded to and the melters saying we should've held out for more

Let's wait and see if a better offer was even a possibility before teeing off

For the life of me, I still don't understand why GC offered Pick 7 straight up. Like would Geelong say no to Bowes and Pick 12 for some loose change in next years draft? Surely we could of offered 12 and say a 3rd rounder next year for 7.

I really must be missing something here as it is so bizarre to forgo a Top 10 pick so willingly.

Soon as we split the pick, unbeknown to us Philipou went in the bin. Can't complain our pick 8 is no longer enough now when there's a massive vic wankfest over him suddenly.

Rightfully so IMO. I'd take Philipou over Wardlaw personally, and i think he'll be the best player of this draft. But i digress..

We know Rohan and the boiz club have a collection of players they were happy with being available at 8 and that's why they made the move. Slipping sliding and Vic media pumping up players tyres left right and centre shouldn't change anything.

I'm presuming it's the same collection we've discussed ad nauseam already. (Clark, Mckenzie, Ginbey, Tsatas, Philipou). It's not exclusively one player.

He's happy with one of those ^ plus Hewett. Probably now Allan too I'm guessing. And he preferred that combination over just one of Wardlaw/Cadman/Sheezle.

Was it the right call? Probably not, I think we should fold the club. But you can't undo that original pick split now, we're all in. No point crying because Philipou is gone.

So one year on where do you think Angus should have been taken in last years draft, do you think he’ll end up better than Chesser?
