Where would Clark play for us? He's not displacing any of our B22 (same issue as Brander).

So the question is would you prefer Brander developing on the list with a view to replacing Kennedy, or Clark and Rotham on the list with a view to replacing Hurn?

Geelong would benefit from the swap (they have spots in defence opening up) but not sure we would.
Clark is better than Cole or Nelson. Where as to play brander we would have to leave someone better than him out. We also have Allen and Edwards as youth coming up in key positions

He has nowhere near the runs on the board that Jetta does. Crazy talk (he may get there one day, but is being rated well above his actual performance).

Also he reinjured his shoulder this year. Red flag much?

He averages all of 2 possessions more than Brander, and his games mostly came in the longer format (he has kicked a lot more goals though). If we want a mid/hbf to improve us get Pickett for free (upgrade on Ainsworth, goes hard, dodgy disposal).

Clark is a good player, just not worth giving Brander for him.

Thanks captain obvious. Clark doesnt have the runs on the board like Jetta.......who would have thought.

How many posts have been in this thread saying we lacked Jetta's speed rebounding and kicking? We have lost the fast rebound from defense. People saying those left are solid but not exceptionally fast or creative.

Well at 31 we wont be seeing Jetta improve us over the next 2 plus years. And someone said they couldnt see how Clark would improve us.............really? :$

I do not want Oscar playing backup ruck with longer quarters. This has to be Bailey Williams.

IF we commit to playing Oscar before JK retires, we cannot play too many talls and we will wear out Oscar in the ruck.

If we cannot find a place for Brander in 2021, then I expect he will request a trade. We made a mistake in drafting 2 KPP in 2017 and cannot leave 1 festering in the reserves and not developing. Leave it too long, we will get a second rounder for him as his resume is blank.

These hypothetical trades and what could we get for NicNat makes me think this is another rerun of "Indecent Proposal"

For those too young to have seen this film, it was a hypothetical of what would you do to let Robert Redford bang your wife? The answer was from memory $1 million.

For my wife? Where do I sign up?

For Demi Moore back then, no chance.

This is likely accurate but I sense the likelihood of another wasted year ahead.

Williams should be given a run at second ruck from the get go next season (as he should this year in my opinion). No more Allen in the ruck, he should be permanent forward.

That will mean the side is unbalanced until Kennedy retires, and even then Brander is simply being wasted on the sidelines.

The make up of the list just isn’t quite right, largely due to drafting decisions.

54 ? He was originally pick 56 and can't get a game for a team who didn't make finals .

When we have little in the way of draft collateral I wouldn't be giving up 54 .
Not to mention GWS traded out Patton & Scully for 4th round picks, and Bonar for a 3rd round pick. Langdon worth comfortably less than all of those.
Yet watch us do exactly that

I thought they would have learned from TK trade - don't come out and openly commit to trading in a player. Bargaining chip gone, & club gets stooged on trade because they feel they must get it done at all costs. And especially when it's someone like Langdon

Its a non event trade. Will just be a low pick downgrade. GWS will just want him off their books really. I dont know our late picks but will be something like Pick 55 for Langdon and 65 or something like that.

Just a hope . I think his pace as a mid and ability to swoop on ground balls would complement our game style .

if we could get him and Langdon with our 2nd and 3rd picks 49 + 54 that would be ok ..

I think we can get a good kid at Pick 30 so would like to take that to the draft ..

Re Brander, I recently saw some of his numbers when played in defence.

One game at the nationals, he had 20+ touches and five intercept marks and was elite in intercept possessions.
He also played a handful of games in the backline at WAFL level at the end of 2018 and was elite in intercept possessions and spoils.

Allen, Darling, JK, Waterman and Williams are all ahead of him up forward. There's less competition down back, so I think that's where he'll settle.........maybe...
I like this but we've shown no inclination to play him back so far.

Rumours are narkle will probably not be able to be offered a contract with geelong getting Cameron, Higgins and re- signing parfit and touhy .

Langdon should be a future 4th rounder.

We keep our 2nd rounder and somehow upgrade one of our 3rds
