Cann River is an interesting place. A long time ago (about 30 years - yikes!) I did a lot of work in East Gippsland, sometimes very remote. Also have relatives in Mallacoota and in farming at Wangarabell (look it up - like I said, remote).

But the roughest pub I encountered was at Bendoc. The pub at Delegate River was a little challenging too.

Put it this way - they didn’t much care for my long haired vegetarian work colleague, who vainly searched the pub menus for anything without meat!
I worked in the Hotel Central at Lakes Entrance years ago - the fishermen were quite bad tempered if they'd been out in Bass Strait for 2-3 days and didn't catch anything.

Serve beer and ask no questions - look straight ahead

Fried or steamed? Or the best option of a couple of steamed dimmies whilst waiting for the fried ones to cook?

I thought it was a werewolf, at first glance (like something out of the Teen Wolf movie).
