Jen, do you think they’re playing Eyre forward until he gets a bit more confidence with his hammy / match fitness/ match hardened?
Allan: I saw he had ~7 possessions in the first - did he completely drift out of the game in the second?

Played in the centre square. I hope it clicks for him that’s he bigger than most players in there. Pleasing he bumped someone late as Casey cleared, so there’s hope.

He's a beautiful kick, but I don't think he'd get the ball in his hands to kick it very often at AFL.
That was a silly delisting, pulled the trigger too early imo. What is it with our club and talls.......

On the telecast, I got the impression that Ryan was mainly wing. Was alright, but needs some confidence.

It's now been 2 drafts, 2 SSP periods and 2 MSDs. Hopefully he develops into an AFL player for his sake, but clearly not one we'd be considering a blunder and if we did think it was, he's still there for us to sign.
True, still feel we should of given him more time, we have a terrible record with talls over the past decade.

Meh. I think he'd still be playing in our vfl side if we had kept him. Skinny as.

In that draft we also picked Henry and McInnes. And have now ended up with Eyre also.
We were unlucky to lose Henry.
I’d argue that McInnes is a better prospect than McMahon, and now we also have Eyre.

What I saw of him was not good. Several possessions where he ran into trouble, stopped, and then just turned it over. He needs to commit to breaking lines or have better awareness of who is running in support.
DeMattia had a much better game today than I’ve seen from him so far. Cause for optimism.

At Willy, I’ve seen kicks go backwards over the head of the kicker, by some metres.Watched a mate play there, it was absolutely freezing, pissing down & kid you not close to cyclonic winds,kicks were seriously changing direction mid air & going backwards, apart from that I couldn’t fault the place lol

Hard day to play in the middle. But I thought he ran hard and looked hard to play against when he had it. Just no cohesion with those around him.
It’s a hard one….but I’d persist with him there, just think the AFL will need him fwd.

Ain’t about the complete game.
We got smashed. But once Reef went into the middle, his overlap run was very good. Not much more he could do in the middle when everyone around you fumbles and drops chest marks!
