Toast CROWS get their man Don Pyke named Adelaide coach

Seems by all accounts we picked up a good one--as always it is a bottom line business, and the proof will be in how the team plays/performs.

It also goes to show you what I have always felt, that Adelaide is a fantastic spot to coach and/or play in. Coach Pyke could have waited on other opportunities and there was no requirement he come to our club--but he knows a passionate fan base and top tier organization when he sees one.

As I have always maintained--what coach AND/OR player would not want to play/coach here.

Good on the Crows organization....now get the deal done with that player--get us some assets-- and we can all move forward together. :thumbsu:
well, unfortunately for Patrick('s incoming child) you can't choose where you're born.

Ehhh---perhaps because free agency has been around since the 1970's in American sports and perhaps because I am a Clevelander who has watched many a player move on (and---in some cases come back, i.e. Lebron) I don't get to caught up on individual players.

Good luck to him and his family---but once we get the deal we want, he isn't a part of our team and I could care less what happens to him and/or his new team.

All about the name on the front of the jumper and not the back of it. (to modify an American expression)

How do you know we have a good coach?

Port hate it. Just read their board and you will see how hard they trying to talk it down.
There is no rule that the coach will be good but think we have picked a good one from those available.

But you can guarantee that if we didn't get Pyke they would be laughing saying we missed out on another good coach.

I liked Walshs slogans better. But maybe some WCE people can shed some light, but the man has that ruthless look about him.

You know they type, best mates till you **** it up and then your dead to him.
Nobody had slogans like Walshy.
But we are all different and it isn't a battle of slogans.

Since Roo, Fagan etc. came on the scene, things have really changed for the 'Chief Football Writer' here in Adelaide. How apt is the treatment the AFC is dealing up to Rootchi in keeping the arrogant, smart-arsed, biased, spiteful, malevolent, gloating writings, devoid of any real information. We never ever had to accept the blatant venomous scribings of this PA aligned joke and what an overdue day when we called enough. As a 'Chief F W' he seems now to be living on the periphery and the wheel has turned upon him and he gets no more courtesy than a work experience copy boy in any of the local media.

I don't expect it but I hope some lessons are learnt from where he now finds himself.

Was I supposed to think Chief **** Wit here? Because it's what instantly came to mind.

Another year like this year and re-signing Ken Hinkley so early won't exactly be looking like a masterstroke, either :p

is thread about the coach or Roochi? even though Roochi trolls the Crows senseless at least he lays the boot into his own club when needed, i find it funny that 90 percent of the Adelaide media are in the crows pockets yet nothing is ever said about the sugar coated journalism in regard to those reporters.

We are talking about how he has no clue, nothing to do with him being a port power stooge, but a terrible inept journalist who often doesn't know whats happening in his own backyard. Burnt far too many bridges. Why don't you head back to the power board and laugh at Tex for a spelling mistake in a tweet or something as riveting and hard hitting as that.

I always said we should find a Patsy in the lower rungs of SA journalism and take them under our wing and feed them all the good info. We are the biggest ticket in town, we should control the media.

Is there a local Fairfax rag? We're sponsored by News Ltd's opposition now

Turning our thoughts to our new defensive coach.....

Any thoughts?
Clearly Caracella. Isnt that who they were up here for on Wednesday? Must have been a hell of a meeting if Pyke gave a four hour presentation, followed by Caracellas interview. No wonder Fagan looked buggered.

The day that I had a photo with JJ and Sauce at the Advertiser building (before the semi final), I also saw Rucci walking through. You could see the pissed-off look on his face seeing a Crows function invading his workplace.
