Tritto that!!! If one looks on the Richmond board, quite a few have Nahas as a delisting candidate.

That bloody surprises me!!

I reckon he looks like a natural footballer if I have ever seen one...a couple of times watching Richmond games I have said to myself, "Would love to have this bloke at Adelaide".

Am I the only one?

Yep, you are. Nahas is a typical small foward, thing is he needs to be a lot stronger, he is all bones. If he is to become a better player he needs to be a lot stronger, porplyzia and lecras like.

Palmer or Griffen to Adelaide would be a great result for the midfield, some serious leg speed which we lack badly to break the lines.
Even if we need to give up second round pick + player.

Hurn to Adelaide would be as good a ready-made replacement we could hope for to replace Goody coming out of defence. Obviously, his long and accurate passing would be a great asset.

Very doubtful that more than 1 of those trades would go through.

I will be shattered if we get Thomas for McKernan - hopefully this is just a rumour and doesn't materialize.
A KPP (albeit prospect) for a average-to-good small forward. Where's the logic? If we've got Porps and Jaensch up forward, with Dangerfield, Douglas and Vince resting up forward - we don't need Thomas.

It's all about opportunity .vs. cost. I think losing McKernan's potential would outweigh the benefits of getting Thomas's current skill set.

I don't think we'll fall in a heap next year despite losing 1300 games of footy between the retirees. If we've got a full squad to pick from we've still got a list capable of making the top 6, at worst.

FB: Johncock Rutten Otten
HB: Stevens Davis Doughty - (Hurn)
C: Douglas Thompson Reilly - (Griffen)
HF: Knights? Walker Dangerfield
FF: Porplyzia Tippett Henderson
MID: Maric Vince Van Berlo

INT: Sellar/Griffin Sloane
MacKay Jaensch/Schmidt - (Palmer)

Keep - Armstrong, Cook, McKernan, Young, Petrenko, Talia.
Haven't seen anything of James, Gunston, Martin or Shaw to comment on them.

If we could get something for Moran or Jacky we should jump at offloading them in my opinion. Moran doesn't look to be a ruckman of any substantial quality and we've got plenty of kids to play in KP. Jacky doesn't look like he's got the pace or nouse.

Every time I see him I say to myself "Not AFL standard", because, he really isn't. Wouldn't be surprised if he was delisted by Richmond.

Jared Brennan is "apparently" set to walk out on the Lions. He can do the amazing and also frustrate the shite out of fans. Get his head right, 26 years old can play just about any position. Suns will probably get him though.

Thoughts.

That really bloody surprises me.

I think he has 'it'.

He's not especially talented, especially fast, nor does have any real standout features like being strong overhead, a tackling machine or a booming kick. On top of that, he is just too small - while it is still possible for a player of that height to play, he's a virtual stick figure (at age 22), coming in 8kg shy of a good example of a more mature small forward draftee in Ballantyne (23), and a whopping 13kg shy of Jaensch (20).

No presence, no strength, no standout feature, average speed, average skills. What about him could possibly suggest he has "it"?

Nathan Djekkura has informed Geelong that he is leaving the club for more opportunity. I hope the club is all over this as he could fill a role as a high pressure defensive forward who also crumbs 1-2 goals a game.

Just the thing. :thumbsu: Thought that about Jacky too though. Club should have a go.

Isn't he a midfielder? I'm sure he was playing as a mid in the vfl

The Geelong board suggests they were hoping he would be the long term replacement for Ling as the chief midfield stopper.

That's correct (largely because thats the role likely to open up the soonest in our midfield although it's one he could do well as he's a bloody good tackler). Although keep in mind we have no older bodies due to all our depth players going to other clubs etc, so anyone in our VFL side who has a older stronger body and is under 6ft plays midfield by default, regardless of whether they're actually likely to be, or could work, best as a back, or in DJ's case, maybe as a forward. I always saw him as more of a mid but forward is certainly also possible. TBH, I just think he wants an opportunity somewhere and wouldn't care if you asked him to play ruck! (kidding) so long as it's senior footy.

He has more natural skill than most players on our list.

did anyone hear on the Nova news that Griffen has knocked back the crows?

seems strange that you can knock back an offer that isn't able to be made, but I guess thats footy.

You can't approach the player directly Cap, but you can talk to their Manager (who obviously talks to his player).

I know the initial re-action is no, but I like the Graham Cornes philosophy of making it impossible fo them to say no. We should keep at him relentlessly.

To be a gun side next year, we neeed the addition of an ace outside running mid-fielder.

Well, birdman has retired, so we need a replacement in the "does the amazing one minute, then flubs the simple the next" category.
