Nope... all that ends up happening is the troll carlton supporters (like davis_567, Arrow etc etc) come in here and dribble their endless shite and go around and around in circles doing so for page after page.. it quickly becomes a dumpster fire.

Best to only allow them reading privilages... and know that they are here reading every word without being able to respond!..

Hi Davis!.. ;)

I was just doing the same. Despite being over looked several times by numerous clubs ‘it’s not possible to say where other clubs rated stocker and he very well could be rated by every club as pick 6.’

Using the same idea that we don’t know any clubs rating of stocker, it’s possible that he was rated a late third rounder. I doubt they would understand that though.

Talking Footy had done their own ladder as well and had Carlton bottom with 5 wins. Not sure where those wins come from? SOS's arse?

These are the 4 possible wins they may have in ORANGE.

I still think the Saints and Dogs have their measure comfortably.

They are a chance to beat the Suns at home to equal their 2018 H&A record of 2 wins.

Well, that's not a very Fun Fact for Carlton supporters. Lay it out like that, and it looks horrible.

"4 possible wins" my backside. They'd have to be well underdogs in 3 of those, and the GCS game will be no pushover. IMO 2 wins, max, out of that lot. Of course, they'll probably jag one out of the other games as well, because that's footy. But even so - they're looking at a 3 win season, maybe - MAYBE - 4.

Just like know views on Anderson do we pick him if get the pick from Carlton. Even with ties to hawthorn and go home factor ????
Rowell or Anderson. Back yourself in to retain them. Suns have backed themselves in taking Rankine and Luko. It's also working for the Lions.

The go home factor should never stop us from picking the very best player available at our pick... least that is what I hope and I’m sure it wouldn’t be factored in by guys like Hamish O..

Back the club to retain them... and ... If the kid we pick up turns out to be a gun and then decides to want to go home.. we get good currency for him anyway...

My understanding is that the Suns behind the scenes have been trying to extend the contracts already of Lukosius and Rankine. The fact that they havent yet is good signs. I just wonder if the AFC will make a play using Carlton's pick, Pick 1 or 2 for them.

That will be the crux of it..the longer it goes without them signing further years to the 2 year deal, the more dodgy it becomes for them. If the club thought they would try to get Luko back to SA, GC won't get a better deal and with 2 elite mids in the draft this year, it certainly would help mitigate the loss of one of these lads back to us..it is just do WE want to forgo the chance to get an elite mid at years end assuming Carlton finish bottom 2

There is no need to use the Carlton first on either Luko or rankine they can wait another year, we can get in rowell or anderson and use next years first to bring one of the boys home.... you'd imagine Port will try too. Wouldnt not suprise me if rankine picks us and Luko picks Port.

I didn’t have Sydney at the bottom of the ladder, no. But I also didn’t suggest anything about where Sydney would finish.

I have consistently said that Carlton would finish bottom 3, and likely would finish 2nd bottom behind GC.

As for being unlucky with injuries, it was only a week or so ago you were still stating that Carlton wouldn’t finish bottom 2 and it was a dumb trade. It’s not like the entire team has got injured for the season in that time. This is the same crappy Carlton team from last year, just with a year of development into their kids and a year of age on the weary legs of their best players (Cripps and Curnow excluded). So no one should be surprised that they still suck.
Lets look at their young talent that is getting games into them.
Forward line of McKay, Curnow, and Gov.
Midfield of Cripps, Dow, Walsh, Setterfeld, Kennedy, SPS, Stocker, Pickett and Garlett. Now there is a ton of talent there that will kick on soon.
Their backline has Weitering, Marchbank, Jones and Docherty.
That is the basis of a good group. I would have their list over St Kilda, Norf, GC, Sydney, WBs amoungst others.
I think their issue is Bolton as I have said for years, and when he is sacked the next coach will have a good ride.

Interesting thread on the main board about The Carlton Way - their latest five year plan.

One poster pointed out that they had a similar sounding one a few years ago

The Blue Print is a five year strategic plan for the club

Uncompromising in pursuit of sustained success

The Carlton Football Club has released details of a five-year strategic plan that aims to cement a 17th premiership for the Club, leading to a second flag by the end of the 2015 season.

The Strategic Plan, Carlton’s Blue Print for now and the future, is the result of months of discussion and planning between the Board and Senior Management of the Club, in association with outside consultants. It is an extensive document that outlines the objectives the Club will strive to achieve in all areas of the business over the next five years.

“This is about taking the Carlton Football Club forward. Our promise is to be uncompromising in pursuit of sustained success and our mission is to win premierships and to provide amazing experiences,” said Carlton President Stephen Kernahan.

“Our core business is football and success on the field is what this Club is about and this plan is based around ensuring we have the structures, the people and processes in place to be successful. Everyone involved at Carlton want the Club to be successful and to be able to enjoy the ultimate success.

“We will be uncompromising in our pursuit of this success.”

Narrator: "There was no success."

I just hear Ron Howard voicing this ala Arrested Development

Carlton got massively sucked in by Malthouse's manipulation in the media with his "it's now or never" talk. Malthouse mostly just wanted to come in thinking he could get them a premiership to stick it up Collingwood and Eddie who he was bitter at. I can still remember reading his comments about how their 'premiership window' was about to open then they proceeded to finish 18th that year. Bringing Malthouse on board was their biggest blunder imo.

Supposedly Malthouse wanted to ditch 18 players from their list immediately and the board wouldn’t allow him to gut the list as he wanted

Haven't heard that one before, doubt it's true given the things he was saying in the media to get the job. Why would you talk up premiership windows opening if you wanted to gut the list?
