One improvement I've been most surprised by but happy with is the ability to run out the full four quarters and to keep giving the effort even during dips in the match. I think that's the natural progression of tanks getting bigger and more endurance entering the fore with experience. Hopefully it continues and I think that's the factor that'll do the most in holding us in good stead regardless of who we have on the park.

That always works better as a 1-2 punch, because there is no way you tag two defenders.
Yes Redman and McGrath. 3 is a liability to defensive structure. McGrath was the stay at home small last year while Hind had the licence. I much prefer McGrath. He is smarter and much more reliable.
Hind gets a game as the lockdown small defender on the oppositions best small forward . Has the pace and very good defensive pressure.

We played three on Sunday .

If Walla came on and scored 2 goals from 6 touches we'd be creaming ourselves. But because Guelfi did it no one's paying attention.

Happy to keep Guelfi as sub, unless they want to give Stringer restricted minutes.

The issue with consecutive weeks as sub, especially when coming off an injury late in the preseason, is not building match fitness.

There's no doubt Guelfi made a positive impact when he came on, anyone that can't see that has shit in their eyes.

I think Redman is more medium than small! I don't think we need too much run out of each of them. However, if they are able to lockdown a small forward, hurting them the other way makes the opposition forward have more on their mind than kicking goals.

Redman is probably a bit of both. Reason I classify him as a small is that he can't play on the guys like Tom Lynch (Ade), Jake Stringer etc.

1 flag in 150 years is a nice thing to make fun of but what sums up this club even more is... I'm pretty sure the only picture they have from the day with the cup is their captain holding it wearing a Collingwood jumper.

Wonder if they might be more likely to play Hind this week against Saints to use his speed to help break lines and beat the Ross Lyon defensive squeeze. Could even be a good sub to bring fresh and fast legs into the 2nd half, especially if we not going so well.

I’d be willing to take a calculated risk and bring Hind in for Kelly. I don’t think Kelly is essential for the match-ups due to the Saints injuries. Make them accountable for our driving speed out of defence and they will struggle to structure their forward line adequately.

Keep Guelfi as the sub for 1 more week. Keep D’Ambro for his incisive kicking when we break from defense and bring in Baldwin for Zerk. Weid possibly comes in for Phillips. Stringer would benefit from another week in the VFL and then have him in as sub the following week.

Who was the 3rd?
D'Ambrosio was rotating.
I suppose they could bring Hind in for D'Ambrosio.
Teams generally play 7 defenders, one rotating through the bench
