Nerves kicking in. Bar fridge stacked and ready to go.

In the last 10 years, as a City fan I’ve had to deal with the title being decided 3 times on the final day with today being the fourth. The “Agueroooo” day, Pellegrini’s title against West Ham last day (fairly comfortable 2-0 win, if it’s possible to have a fairly comfortable last day result), and 2 years back away to Brighton when we went 1-0 down early.

Being a Saints fan, the natural pessimist when it comes to sport in me says I can’t be lucky enough to support a team that wins again on the final day.

Having supported City since the mid 90s, I never signed up for this. I get to go to a couple of games a season in Manchester (as City Newcastle 2 weeks ago) and it’s the same for most of the older City fans, completely unprepared for the sudden success since being taken over. They are a fan base similar to the Saints so there is always the potential for self-destruction.

Good luck Reds, neither team deserves to lose the title, the standard of football this year and the last few years has been incredible.

If you do get up, the quad is yours (IMHO you will easily beat Real Madrid) which is unthinkable.

I think City will beat Villa comfortably. You deserve to win something this season, and I don't won't Liverpool doing a clean sweep!

It’s funny mate: I was at a wedding two weeks ago in your neck of the woods and my friends there are nearly all United fans that I used to play football (soccer) with in Australia for a year.

It always takes me by surprise a bit how much my mates hate Liverpool. It’s not even close for them who they want to win between Liverpool and City. It’s City all the way. The City United rivalry - at least from United’s perspective - is nothing on the Liverpool one.

Absolutely. United-Liverpool will always be the biggest game and fiercest rivalry in English football. Two great clubs who wish each other nothing but the worst . I have a lot of respect for Liverpool and their history, but I need City to win the league today.

Yep, it’s one of those things us Aussies need to experience first hand to see the depth of hatred.

I remember going there the first time on holiday to see my mates 20 years ago. Coming from Australia, it’s just mind blowing that you just drive an hour and you go from one big city to another and they speak different accents.

My mates being United fans as I mentioned, refused to come with me anywhere near Anfield (as a tourist I wanted to see it) and dropped me a few blocks away and stayed in a pub rather than go anywhere near the stadium!

It’s such a fantastic part of the world where you live. Passionate about football, amazing music and great, down-to-earth people.

Yes, the accents things is crazy: there are so many in such a small country. I've often wondered how that came about - one for the Linguistics professors.

At the 70 mins mark, Aston Villa let in 3 (3!) goals and left Liverpool with nothing. So close! Oh well, that's how it goes. City deserve it, they've been amazing and had Liverpool beat them during either of their league games against them, the cup would have Liverpool's name on it. So very very good, but not good enough - Simple.

What an incredible final day. City looked like they had thrown it away, only to produce an incredible comeback. Crazy scenes at full time at the Etihad, not all good, sadly. Two world class teams at the top, having a tremendous tussle for the title. At the bottom Leeds survived to send Burnley down. Superb drama.
