Switta the magician BOG for mine just kept flying though contests and coming out with it or lightning hands puting it to advantage..

Good call. His ability to get off the ground from prone and accelerate away from a contest is mind melting.

Blake acres is seeming like a brilliant trade in. Even colyer is looking inciteful.

Acres has well and truly won me over (with the caveat he needs to keep performing like this to keep his B22 status).

Colyer is handy (and well worth his spot in the team atm) but still costs us quite a few opportunities with fumbles at crucial times. Keep an eye out for it when you watch the replay, there was at least a couple of Carlton goals in the second half that started from Colyer fumbling in our F50. Walker is probably the only other one in the team who fumbles as much atm, but he's young and will hopefully improve.

I think being a one-touch player is just about the most crucial (and often overlooked) indicator of genuine AFL quality. It's one of the reasons Fyfe stood out to me from his very first game and it's one of the reasons I love Noddy so much. At AFL level it just kills the team if you fumble for even a second.

Yeti, Are we microwaving our "I hate Blake Acres" fan club memberships?

The beauty of this group is we are not reliant on any one player. Everyone is playing their role (except for Freddy he was shocking today) & stepping up when we need them.

Lobb, Pearce, Acres, Colyer, Aish, are the prime example of this, not match winners, but moment winners when we need them to stand up at vital points of the game.

The game plan developed by the coaching group is what we have been dreaming of for 5+ years & is just great to watch. Little bit of Richmond of a few years ago without the manic ball movement, but not fussed to lose the contest to win back the ball at half back & take off with controlled movement.

Just a joy to watch.

As an aside - I found it amusing that Cerra had over 30 possessions but had zero impact. Carlton seem to have him playing their circle football and forget that he is an elite kick & the one that should be kicking it into F50. He’s been Carltoned!!!

He's been Petrevski-Seton'ed.

I think that's harsh on Freddie. He committed to the contest all day and made things happen with his pressure. Best exemplified by those two moments 5 mins apart at the start of the 3rd where he went back with the flight to stop the Carlton player marking and then put on a lightning chase to affect a kick. Both lead to Freo possession even though he didn't get a stat for either of them.

He had a frustrating 'almost' game where you could see him making space to be an option all day but not get used. That happens sometimes in that graveyard position at HFF.

The difference I see between him and someone like Banfield is even when he's not getting the ball he's causing panic in the opposition and making things happen. And on the days when it falls for him you know he'll make the most of it.
