Autopsy Game is long over, Swans were putrid

What worries me most is every game this year, there have been significant periods where all our opposition has been well on top, even the worst teams. Norf got the jump on us, WCE had us by the balls for most the game, Richmond and St K beat us. We have not actually put in a dominant 4 quarter game this year that I can remember.

Melbourne, Collingwood, I'd argue even the first GWS game, Carlton, Hawthorn.

Do you think we were on top for the whole time like Bne was against St K yesterday? Or Port and dogs against us?
No but I also don't think that's realistic to expect more than a couple of times a season. Results like that are always dependent on one side being abysmal.

Four quarter efforts are very achievable and we had a number of them in the first half of the season, that's what we should be striving for.

Fair enough. I'd just love to watch one of our games and feel comfortable from the first bounce until the final siren. But maybe that's more me than anything else 🤔

The only bloke that thinks Brandon Jack has anything to do with it is Brandon Jack.

I know some here admire his writings - but jumping on twitter with smug musings about his ex-club & his own brilliance immediately after a crushing loss is poor form.
I think you missed it, DQ. He was having a laugh at the people who were saying that the Swans loss was down to his paper napkin analysis.

Perhaps you’re right. Although I’m not 100% sure you are. But I do confess - it’s open to interpretation.

I was seeing things through the angry pills lens yesterday. Far more lucid today.

Understand completely. I was deliberately forcing myself to be positive and see the gallows humour in it all. In the 90's we had results like this (although not 71-1!) but we were on the bottom and finding our way up. This hurts more because we are at the top and throwing away the best season start in the club's history. Supporters live and die on 'hope' so if you are down the bottom then that is what you crave - if you get smashed then you get smashed, but you at least come away hopefully seeing a tiny improvement in one or two players.

This is the other end. This is not our hope being destroyed, but rather our expectations. We had every right to have high expectations of this team this year and they have somehow shat all over it. I personally feel like packing it up for the season because we are not going anywhere, but I also know that if we pull one out of our rectal passage against the pies then I will slightly change my mind and want to believe again.

I just don't believe now.

I remember sitting in the Brewongle Concourse back in the early to mid 90’s watching us get routinely belted.

But a few blokes like Kelly, Cresswell, Luff and Seymour really put in, week after week. It was the genesis of something good.

Who is our Paul Kelly in this team?

Who can really lead by example & lift the playing group?

I just don’t know.

Is this still a dream? Can someone tell me this isn't real? I have waited before posting to take emotion out of it, but can anyone be blamed having heart in a post? I was standing there at Half Time thinking, what and who am I watching? This ain't the Bloods, or heart. Jeez I felt low watching and hearing the comments from the Power trash fans at our class players . Utter trash performace made Port look good, which they were but we were trash.

Worst performance by any club for quite some time.

Don't think it can get any worse.

As a footy club, we've been fortunate to not witness rubbish like this, but when it happens. I'll never tear my membership up, throw in the towel or completely abandon this club but what I do expect is them to have heart and not be gutless at the end. From the coaches to the players, hold accountability.

Seriously do you actually think our forwards had a part to play in that capitulation? The ball barely made it to our half of the ground.

Your edit makes me think you might finally understand how Wicks performance directly correlates with how well we score😉 Like I said, if we have a bad game, you can guarantee Wicks won't have a good game. Team performance and medium/small forward performance always goes hand in hand - and it's the team performance that determines the other, not the other way around.
Nah you backed in what you thought but it was just plain old wrong at the end of the day. Wicks is worse than Francis in the loosing streak and that is saying something considering that most are in the consensus that Francis should be cut at the end of the year.

You know what Dangas?
We'll at least give them a chance to redeem themselves.
Even if they don't win this week, show some competitive spirit to set up a finish to the season that isn't ended with a whimper. I trust that they will.
Us supporters are one thing, but the players themselves that have represented the jumper with the worst effort in the history of the club are the ones that have to save face. They all have to face up to some well respected people of our club this week at the Hall Of Fame. That'll be tough for them. In fact they probably shouldn't be invited due to the stench they've left everyone with after that effort.

But everyone deserves a chance & although I have been a little negative with this team since the GF debacle in 2022 & thinking we were no chance to win a flag, even at 13 & 1, I actually think (hope) that the events of last week may actually be the catalyst to snap out of any arrogance & complacency that may have been lingering after such a successful start to the season.
Now is the time they just might knuckle down & do the hard stuff
starting with the coaches & selectors.

There needs to be some genuine fear from certain players that they may miss the opportunity of playing in a GF.
Create list pressure & reward good form &n effort in the twos.

I think Grundy is in trouble this week. They will rest him.
One of the talls is out too. I fear it's McDonald as a repeat of the 2022 GF.
Go back & dominate the twos Logan. Bring in Edwards if Rampe isn't fit & best of luck son.
I think Fox did himself no favours. He may be out. Mills plays twos, send the message to no one is safe. Cleary in. Rest Heeney. If we lose, we lose. I can deal with Cleary making mistakes. Can't deal with another mistake from Mills.

These guys won't be worse than the players they will replace.

I started barracking for us when I was about 8 or 9, around 1995. Regional SA, hadn't settled on a team before that, but loved the footy. Possibly the underdog status and the fact no-one else I knew went for them, got me on board, along with Kelly, Lockett etc.

I realise I have been incredibly fortunate to know mostly competitive or good times.

So that was the most insipid performance I've seen while being a Swans fan. And while we're on top, knowing what we can actually do.

It was a hard game to watch
Try being a Swans fan and watching it 🤮

I think this is the part that upsets me the most, not one solitary player stood up and said "come on boys, let's get going", not one, 22 freaking nobody's out there all looking like it was too hard.
As I said somewhere else on here, maybe put the AFLW team out there on Friday night, I reckon they've got more balls than what that lot did on Saturday night.

Well said Jewels, it comes all back on the players, their attitude, determination and guts, only the players can fix this and redeem themselves.

Collingwood a couple of big outs,I have just about got over all the hurt from last week end and really feel pumped for next week end especially the start of the 1st quarter.Especially hope the players importantly have the same thoughts as me and all BF posters and the big crowd that will be at the SCG on Friday night.

They still have Naicos/Pendles/Sidebottom running through the middle and the other Daicos on the wing.

Who are the other outs?
