Tuohy has to be replaced next year for the Cats to improve. He cannot keep Clark out of the team for a heap of reasons. Been A great pick up though.
Bloody Henry also, the bloke is the most unko thing ive ever seen, runs like a duck and handles the ball like he has had his hands in the Vas for a month!!!

Parfitt played? I guess that answers the question.
At least Blicavs has stood up at some point.

You're usually up with things...are you not aware of Parfitt's injury early in the first quarter..and then the same injury at the end of the first quarter...he played through a lot of pain....

Beaten by a better team tonight.
Another Dynasty I have witnessed in my 45 years watching the game.
Congratulations to them well deserved.
Dusty is a superstar... kudos to him.
As for my boys in the hoops.
Super proud as always. Played pretty well in the first half maybe should’ve been up by 4 goals but still we were over run by the Tiger Machine.
Cameron next year will be nice but what we need is a gun midfielder IMO.
Gutted tonight but that will pass like they all do.
Super proud of the Team/Club and everyone involved from BF posters to members in the stands to the support staff, those in the front office and out back and especially the players. Would of loved a different result but alas wasn’t to be tonight.
Bring on 2021 and whatever it brings.
Cheers boys. Chins up. Stand proud.
And above all don’t turn on ya own like a bunch of rabid dogs as that’s not what we are about.
We are the Geelong Football Club.

It won't as I think Paddy is struggling in comparison to what he was. He has bursts left in him but not games. He needs to play down forward to preserve him. The issue I think is we are too stuck to planned routine where we just need to chuck him in the middle when we need him not just stick to the plan.
Do you think that's a reason we had shown interest in Crouch & Viney - they know that Dangerfield playing as a full time mid across 22 h&a games, plus finals isn't necessary going to be viable option, so he's going to be required to transition to more forward line time (as we saw with Ablett over the past few years)

And obviously Joel's also closer to the end of his career than the start

Maybe the club hadn't expected Guthrie & Menegola to step up as they have this year, and obviously the continued development of Parfitt & emergence of Simpson. So while we still had interest in opposition mids who could step straight into the team, the priority to acquire them lessened, unless we could get them at an affordable rate (hence the apparent $450k per year offer for Crouch compared with the apparent offer from the Saints & what he was asking for last year)

To go along with that, the club seems to have identified our forward line as the area that needs improvement and hence Cameron seemingly becoming the focus

Yes, we need that. Where do we find them?
I don't think its a matter of finding a lot of them, when you have one or two weak links in the backline and incorrect balance, it gets exposed very quickly. We have one or two weak links that get covered when we are doing well but are horrid causing the whole line to break down.

"I don't think they really had an impact on the result"
Oh sorry, I am dim, is that what he said? I had a number of half drinks to finish and preferred to finish them instead of throwing them at the tv...there I go again...must keep repeating the mantra...it's not Scott's fault...it's not Scott's fault...i will face my fear and allow it to pass over me and through me, and in the end, only I will remain......and that useless fing coach...no stop it...it's not Scott's fault....

Didn't think I would see it in a grand final... Very disappointing to see - for some reason we don't have the belief in the system. Richmonds buy in is 100% - they trust what they are doing. Our boys drop their load at the slightest hint of pressure.
Usually we don't. Not effort wise anyway. Ever! Just such a strange and dissapointing thing to see.

But it can't be 'we ran out of gas' every year, can it?

There's something else going on down at GMHBA - whether that's personnel or game plan or mentality - there's something up

It's everything. We're a good team and capable of winning but the Tigers are better, simple. When our gameplan works we look amazing but when it doesn't it turns to slow and bad gameplay and it kills our forwards, we panic and turn it over and get outran, concede goals, can't hit forwards, tire out and become gassed.

Could also be why he has been pushing for them to keep the shortened quarters and 17 game season!!!

Please tell me I wasn’t the only one expecting that second half performance

or am I just broken?

It’s not rocket science, stop Dusty and you have a real chance at winning, did we have a plan for him because from watching that it sure as hell didn’t look like it. Tag him ffs.

Do we have a player who can curtail him for the whole game though?

Yes agree completely. I think we need a mid as I think we are just that one guy short given the list profile. Not a huge issue but more one that could be fixed given a off season move. I suspect something will get done in the off season. Not sure what but I feel their is a surprise happenin.g

Expect Danger to miss the first 2 or 3 games next year for the Vlaustin hit, ive heard they are already pushing for it to go straight to the tribunal. Double motion, didnt look good.

Im not really sure whats up with Danger lately, has not looked happy once in about 6 weeks, always has that really intense unhappy look on his face these days much like Scotty.

Bad luck guys.
As others have mentioned kick another goal or two in that dominant second quarter and the butterfly effect possibly makes the result very different.

As Cotch said, you were a top team when he started in 08 and 12 years later you are still up there going strong.
