I'm fairly sure Ch7 producers have instructed BT to call the way he does to increase general discussion/debate about the show/channel. "The only bad news is no news" or simply clickbait. Look who he used to be paired with, not particularly Mr. Personalities. Look how many 'anti-heroes' there are out there in media and sports. 'It gets their dollars up' and it makes me puke.
The other option since the AFL and its media remoras are hellbent on 'enhancing the experience', and won't be treating the fans as adults, is having a broadcast team of Ling, Watson, and Darcy. :eek:How's that for 2 and a half hours of emptiness.
The broadcast really have to become more professional or give options for adults.
Sorry to go off on a media tangent.:shoutyoldman:

Thanks Ratcat. There are studies which have found that, which is good for people who don't have time to put the mileage into low intensity training.

Yes, it's tough, however Sav has the time for it + for sufficient recovery. He could also incorporate it into his training, with lighter loads in other areas. So how long do you reckon doing, if he did your suggested training, it would take for him to improve enough to improve his AFL level fitness? IIRC high intensity training can improve your cardiorespiratory fitness by 60% in three weeks. Don't quote me on the 60%, but it was a significant increase around that %. So with your method, we could expect significant improvement + by about 75% through the season, Sav should have better endurance for games?

He would improve immediately. ...very noticeable after two weeks.
Recovery between reps would come easier.
Within a month huge benefits.
That's approximately 8 sessions.
3x4x200 sets are ideal run at 90% effort to load up the recovery just enough to make it hard without straining to far.
Each additional rep it becomes hard to recover in the pre subscribed time 60/45/30's recov, whatever the formula.
Full recovery between sets just to increase intensive volume without injury eg. 3x4x200's.
= 12x200 or 3x5 or more.
You can recover by timed splits or HR 120 etc.
This type of training should be incorporated with longer slower stuff, you then find yourself running faster automatically.

Thanks again RatCat. You are now nominated as Sav's trainer ;)

Perhaps, however I'd be somewhat concerned if the lad said he was versatile enough to play at either end.
What concerns me is you said 'next boyfriend', she's only about six or seven isn't she, + already has a versatile bf? ;)

I screamed at my infant son. He looked confused.

OMG you've traumatised him! Hope the poor kid doesn't have issues with footy later on in life :p You may have turned him into a Poos+Wees fan

I'd love that, seems he's got good natural pace
Make a good 400 runner l reckon.
Sav played Rugy (that's Union to you Victorians, not NRL) + Soccer, neither requiring the elite fitness + endurance of AFL, so he has footy skills, + as many have said, needs endurance. So get into him RatCat lol

Fox News just showed an interview with Gawn and they did ask him about the incident with Guthrie:

- Nothing more than I would have said during the game. Obviously the timing, because the siren went during the sledge, so it sorta looked bad but I would have done the same thing to someone who missed the goal as well.

He was asked he if would store it in the memory bank:
- Umm, no not necessarily, it's a long time to store it in the memory bank we don't play them until round 18, so I might rewatch the vision around round 17.

Add in a few nervous laughs & giggles

Hey HK, l got it right with him despite all the crap flung in my direction
You were of the open minded few that gave him a chance of a senior game.
Round 1 lol!
So much for the boys club.lol!

Pointless Sledge...but it seems us Ozzies are good at that. Guthrie quite frankly is not good enough to sledge.

The new boys discuss the win

Oh Boxhead, I'm so pleased you posted this video, huge thanks! Thrilled to see our brand new Kittens interviewed!

Must admit, when I heard the squeaky, thin voice, thought it was Nick Dal Santo, but then saw the nail polish.

How gorgeous are those three Boyz? Played so well in their debuts, were so excited + enthusiastic (contagious) + all spoke very, very well. Impressive guys. I want to adopt them!

Loved Sav's comments about how playing in Selwood's 250th + Gaz's return was so special for him.

Another wonderful about Geelong, we seem to recruit very fine individuals.

Apart from Jacko (who I loved) cannot really remember any outlandish, impudent players. Pretty sure some of you will correct me on this point lol

Gaz Snr and Turner weren’t choir boys and would struggle under the current media obsessed glare these days.

Great player Gaz Snr, but his character leaves a lot to be desired.

GMTA hey RatCat!
I think it was a perfectly reasonable expectation for Sav to play Rd1. A forward/ruck is just what we need! He's in my DreamTeam too lol (As is Kelly) I'm a big fan + a believer, like you. Then with the comments about his lack of endurance (but then who the hell wasn't spent by the end of that game?) it made me wonder how he could improve his fitness quickly. I would like AFL players to do Pilates, Yoga + swimming to improve core strength. Studies have found that improved core strength is helpful in preventing soft tissue issues in the legs + we sure have a lot of them atm!

She's seven. Yeah, she has little boys fawning over her already. They're versatile enough to play with barbie dolls just to talk to her.

However, I digress... back to the footy discussion!

If they're prepared to run him in the ruck on ball can't be to unfit, what a joke!
Yeah after a few efforts he was blowing a bit, well as you say so do most.
He's 19 or 20 whatever so just get the work into him and he'll respond l say.
Crumbs SebCoe was breaking world records at that age. He's old enough just needs the work.
Core is vital especially holding ground 1 on 1 and balance in the clinches.I'm certain they'd major on that with special training, he's just getting bigger and better week by week compared to last year.
Coming on fast.

That's true, although, what GAS did was after footy + unless we walk a mile in his shoes, I cannot judge him. Could say similar about SJ + his DUI. But overall + compared to other teams, our players are fine individuals. No Akers + no belting old men in lifts like Pies etc.

Justin Murphy comes to mind Kitty. I doubt he was a "bad" bloke as such, but as far as a teammate / loyalty goes he failed the character test.

BT is untouchable! Nothing much happened when he made that 'big ****ter' remark in Taylor's 150th game, while giving his son their special wave.

We missed a chance in June lst year to answer the Herald Sun Footy Fans’ Survey. According to the article BT is popular to many + annoying to others.

BT was better earlier in his career. Rex hunt was similar. As he got older and his head got bigger he became lazy and relied on his schtick and inane commentary outbursts/nicknames to sustain his career.
Still rather listen to BT than Bruce

Well, your forgiven for one aberration, winty. But if you did that now, we'd have to question your sensibilities *cough* it's about the hair department *cough*

But BT is paid to commentate, so isn't reasonable to expected him to know the players? If it was an occasional mistake, we'd understand, but he's such an arrogant, wisenheimer, malapert. Remember the furore over his mispronunciation of Orazio? Also Elliot Yeo's name?

No excuses about lots of new players in all the teams! BT needs to spend less time lounging around his pool, modelling his pyjamas + more time studying player's names + their appearance.
I don't mind BT. Gives me a laugh and can make some very boring games slightly entertaining. That thing he does at the end is so bloody awkward it makes me crack up.
When you look at the options we've got is he that bad?
Bruce? Hell No. Just silly and camp.
Ling? Adds Zilch and is boring.
Basil? My God.
Dwayne? Is stupid and despite sensationalising everything he somehow makes it more boring.

Mick would love the attention.

They were both choir boys.
Turner- what do you refer to there?
Apart from an isolated dubious incident, he was and is a very principled bloke with good character.
