What a dilemma.
It is possible to pick up 24-48 hour bugs and to recuperate enough to function and play.
They would have been panic-stricken.
Disastrous timing.
6-7 players affected- I thought all night CGuthrie and Cameron looked off.
Not an excuse, but that on top of other factors- all we do know is Demons will NEVER experience an easier final, and they have 2 weeks to get over anything they may have caught.
We’re they not in isolation , maybe they were a victim of deliberate food poisoning, they haven’t used that before yet

Awesome.
Just the excuse, to go along with the 7 who required painkillers, to paper over the obvious failure once again in a big final.
Every year the club says this kind of sh*t "oh Dangerfield was injured" "We win the flag if Ablett and Parfitt didn't go down!" "If Hawkins played we win" etc etc
Always an excuse to bullshit their way into another ignorant off season.
And what if these "excuses" are legit?? We all know everything has to go well to win a prelim/GF, and for us it did not, several times.

Yep everything has to go well like a game plan built to win finals and a coach that can create it . Missed it by 10 years

In isolation every single one of those excuses are legit, the problem is it's a constant and the club always trots them out.
Never have they come out and said "ok yeah we had some players ill, but that doesn't excuse a weak performance, we need to go away over the off season and have a good look at where we fell short".
But what we often hear is "top 4 is fantastic, if it wasn't for xyz we were in with a real shot! Successful season once again" *Back slaps*.

Well then you missed CS presser last night. He started out by congratulating and praising Demons- their team, their coaching, their admin- all aspects, and that we were just humbled by them. He offered no excuses.
When we read the 07 GF book, we read about Wojo being sick as a dog GF day and the night before, and we laud him as a hero, which he was.

It sounds like we can't even lose gracefully anymore.
Well then it's a good thing that it's not the club that came out with this info but rather the footy media looking for a story

I haven't seen one person involved with the club use it as an excuse

I don't care what Scott says in a cultivated presser, I listen more to what the President says at the AGM, what the CEO says internally.
With mediocre loving Carter gone atleast we might turn away from being called "entitled and spoiled" fans for being upset about going out in straight sets after finish on top and being Premiership favourites..

Edit: Again in isolation those excuses are completely fine. Last night, in isolation, was a team being beaten by a far superior team. Pretty simple.
The problem with the Cats is each game isn't in isolation especially when you have a history of not turning up in finals.

Feels like Chris Scott raised it to me. He didn’t have to say anything. Never complain, never explain.

None of which is relevant today.

Perhaps they were, but trotting them out / leaking them seems kind of sad and pathetic.

Would much rather they kept it in-house, set their jaw, and copped the criticism on the chin.

Who leaked the story?

You continue to ignore the point.
I see nothing but petulance. ANGRY AGGRIEVED SUPPORTERS NOT WANTING TO DILUTE THEIR ANGER AND HATRED EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A NEWS LEAK, NOT A CLUB LEAK.
