If he was , who do we play on Nankervis? He is more than nuisance value. Stanley is a key weapon. He will play, hopefully like SJ in 2011 GF.

Sounds logical but cast your mind back to 2007 and allow me to play Devil's advocate. We won a titanic clash against the Pies by less than a kick, whereas Port thumped their oppo (North?) in the other prelim. Then of course we all know what happened in the GF.

He wouldn't have earned that much cash playing AFL. If he had a regular job on average wage and played club footy on the weekends for a couple of grand a game he'd be in a similiar position probably. That would be why he quit. Same money, less hassles.

We’ve been chipping away at it for a couple years. I’ve been saying for a while we’ll get them next time in a big game. Turns out it’s a Granny. Perfect. GABBA suits us too. I’d worry about Taylor on the MCG in a GF, but we can crowd the 50 (and Lynch) a lot more at the GABBA, it suits our defence. It will come down to Parfit, Guthrie, Menegola etc. in the midfield. they stood up last night in a big game (finally) and I’m backing them in to go on with the job. I genuinely think we’ll get them this time.
