Sounds more like Slobbo making shyte up to make the Saints process be more stupid than *'s. Lyon's network and mates who have ties to the Stains wanted him back and they made it so after Lyon showed interest and realised he didn't have to go through a process.

They have King and Wanganeen-Milera as probably only A graders but I probably going early on the second dude.
But Ross does coach B and C graders very well to get most out of themselves so he will at least have them mid table with his coaching.

Cmon man, Wanganeen/Milera is so far off A Grade as a first player it’s not funny. Sheesh

No doubt in my mind that Lyon was sounded out and or an in principle agreement to become head coach before Ratten was sacked, especially ignoring a process to find the best coach available

Whether this change improves their output longterm is debatable, but it would have been brewing for some time
