Again... more dribble.... Wrong on your first comment. backed it up with this??
Does it mean he is rated as a pick 20 or 22 now?? An upgrade of 2 or 4 slots???
If so lets do a deal with the Eagles for picks 20 + 22 and get two Tim Kelly for the price of one??
Enough... Enough... I'm getting off this merry-go-round.
But before i go... I will say that Kelly was a great pick up at 24.
He has excelled to the point he easily a Top 5 pick if he were in the Draft this year.
Ready to go slot into the Midfield or forward line 22 game player who will average 22 plus give u much much more.
Cheers... GO CATTERS!!
20 & 22 is a fair deal, i'd be happy with that.

There was some talk on here about Hugh Goddard... I think he would be a pretty good punt for a delisted pick-up, or as a Rookie selection. He averaged nearly 11 marks per game in his last 4 VFL games this year. He also played 17 games in the VFL, so he finally had some decent continuity in his 4th season. He's probably worth a 1-2 year punt on the list.

I mean as a bottom-ager in the TAC, he was being touted as the future first pick. The kid has talent.

So its fair to say Pick 59 + 60 will be used for points on Brownless. That's 304 points, with the 20% discount, takes us to net 380 points, which is Pick 43 or worse. Its probably fair to say bidding on Brownless will be after Pick 35 at least, and probably after 43 too.

This means at least two live picks at 12 and 50. Maybe someone will slip through to us at Pick 50.

Connor Idun from the Falcons?? Bit of a 2-3 year project though... plenty of upside.

Does anyone know why Baxter Mensch's form tailed off quite a bit in the second half of the TAC season?

He was racking up the pill like traditional ball hog in the first half, a bit like Matt Crouch.

There would be a bunch of players at every club who aren't 100% committed.

If they were all committed there'd be no trade period and no failed careers.

So we’re in agreeance?! The trade period is a mechanism for (among other things), non-committed players to be traded e.g. Kelly

The usual suspects complaining that we aren’t trading kelly would bitch like crazy if he was traded last week for 20 and 22.

And posted pre-trade period that wells would fold and we would get bugger all.

Doesn’t matter which way it goes, they will just bitch cause they just want to slag the club off any chance they get.

Haters gonna hate.

Can someone please tell me EXACTLY what happens with TK at the end of next year? Please not guessing, as I've seen everything from he is a free agent because he is a mature recruit, through to he will de-list himself and have to go in the pre-season draft. What is the actual situation? Does anyone know for certain?

He will not be a free agent. If there is no trade, and he doesn't re-sign with Geelong he can go into the draft, or wander off into the sunset and do something different for a job.

In case no-one mentioned it, Simon Lethlean of St Kilda gave a negative judgement/criticism of Geelong and Hawthorn's poaching-style draft focus and recommended that both clubs go to the draft in future...

The List Manager for St Kilda has advice for Geelong and Hawthorn...

o_O
Why would you go to the draft if you can get Scully for a 4th rounder next year. No that isn't a typo.

sounds fair...

surely another victorian club would have paid more for him

AFL will have to investigate cos questions will surely be asked

I would too. Pick 24 for 20 + 22. Nice pay off for a one year investment.
If we don't take it we're stuffed. Pick 12 then 50!
Can really consolidate on building a new team with 3 picks in the top 25 in a good draft.
Danger, Selwood, Ablett, Duncan, Menegola, now Dollhouse.
How many bloody mids do we need next year.
Unless we truly honestly think we can win a flag next year it would be negligent of the club not to do take it.

The same St.Kilda that's been linked to every big name during the last 5 years throwing cash around like it's falling from a tree. Sounds bitter that players keep turning him down.

Geelong get. 20 & 22, 2019 WC 2nd round pick
WC get Kelly, cats 2019 3rd round pick?

If that's I'd be fine with this..
Let's be serious mate.

There are two schools of thought:

1. Trade Kelly now and receive maximum compensation. Whether that is 20 and 22, 11, or something else, we will not receive a better deal than that next year.

2. Hold Kelly to his contract for 2019. We will receive less compensation next year under this scenario. The “trade off” being that we get another year’s output from Kelly during what is hopefully a premiership tilt.

There is merit in doing either so I don’t think people are “hating”. It’s actually an interesting discussion.

What you mean? You wouldn't be?
We're not trading Kelly for 3 second round picks and then hand them one back in the process. It's ludicrous.

We get a high pick or it's no deal.
