Was hoping Beams wouldn't get to Collingwood. Their midfield is going to be terrific next year, flag favourites for mine.

My preference was definitely Kelly leaving, as he’ll leave at the end of next year anyway. But I am happy with how we finally played hardball on a trade.

If he has a good season for us next year we should still get something prettyyy good for him.

Either way there’ll be melts :)

Yeh, look, annoyed he didn't leave considering the circumstances he'll return to the club with and possibly may result in a shit trade next year. Hopefully he plays well next year and boosts his stocks, not lowers them if sub-par performances

Considering the recruits Freo got they should have a good season. Maybe Kelly might consider two clubs in 12months time. Happy that Geelong played a stronger game but dissapointed with the result.

I'm not sure about this Kelly trade now... This could burn us later, I am not sure how to react to this. 20+22+next year's 2nd rounder isn't something to snooze over.

If he drops his form a few %, to the point he tackles less, throws his body less on the line, then he's trade currency probably drops at end of next season.

I would put Kelly into the Leadership group, get more buy in from him.

I think Wells was clear in the trade deal request. Eagles were not serious in getting Kelly to the club hence the deal fell over.

The Eagles should have put up a player like Brander or Venables or Duggan or Nelson or etc with those picks in the 20s if they didn't want to give up next years 1st round pick.

I reckon Kelly is going to have a bigger year next season for us as I think he will want to make a statement to say look what you could of had at your club.

But so does the likelihood that west coast may want him. If he just wanted to go home then Freo surely was the play not Weagles. Just can’t understand that if you desperately want to go home but you say only one club.

So as it stands 4 senior spots and 2 rookie (or 2 senior 4 rookie) open.

12 50 59 60 70.
12 live 50 and 59 maybe required to match Brownless, any residual points plus 60 for last 2 picks.
Then 2 rookies.
Menzel and Murdoch still OOC.

Yep, I wanted him to get traded too but I also wanted us to finally make a stand so I'm happy in that regard.

Now onto the draft. I'm thinking I'd like Hill at pick 12 just so we can go through this again.
