Ian Hill anyone at 12? Would love him but risk him wanting to go back to WA w/ the Hill brothers. Curtis Taylor or Jackson Hately are the realistic ones I want

Should we take Marlon Pickett with Pick 12 too send WCE into meltdown.

Another South Fremantle product and Tim Kelly's best mate.

Kill too birds with one stone i know 12 is a stretch for a mature player but to see the meltdowns would be epic

Now now dont add fuel to the fire!!!!! But in all seriousness your suggestion is ridiculous :p

The kid is 64kgs, one thing in the past with players unable to gain proper weight.
They either take 6 years to develop or simple don’t make it through lack of size

Yah start drafting players for meltdown effect. Wasn't bad enough we spent our first round picks on Thurlow, Lang, Smedts, Brown. I swear we actually think we've achieved something the last five Years with our list.

How about we get back to picking some bonafide talent that doesn't involve reaching or being cute. Wells draft picks have been shambolic time to deliver.

Reading the article it Wells has advised that Henry will be upgraded to the senior list.
Does this mean that Gurthie remains on the rookie list?

I can't see anywhere if it says he's getting promoted. It's possible to stay on the rookie list for a third season if the player agrees to it, he would have to be upgraded next year in that case. Does it make sense to sign him for 2 more years if he wasn't getting upgraded this year though? I think there is just an assumption we are promoting him.

Surely it's just best available at 12, and hope for a slider.

I still reckon Wells will get involved with the live trading anyway - he loves playing around with new rules!
I think BPA... but to your other point... Wells and the new rules was all over the BLues and Kreuger like white on rice.

So yes, he may further evaluate and decide a move from 12 is good.
He may also look at the eveness of things from 12-25 as many have stated and look at the other clubs eagerness to get into the top 8.

I could see him perhaps being a facilitator on draft night giving up 12 an sliding back to 18 or so and taking a Rd 1 next year from someone to give them more ammo this year.

Might be a poor trade example but the point is with the live trading now an option, peoples emotions will come into play about getting "their guy". To me Wells is pretty controlled and would be well placed to give up 12 and collect a bounty for it at the expense of others over exuberance to land their fish.

Or he just goes BPA.

It doesn't make sense to upgrade a rookie if we don't have to particularly when we have tight list spots, the rules have changed to allow rookie listed players to play anytime and with match payments etc they'll get the money anyway. Henry is the only one who demands to be upgraded as he'll play regular senior football.

Conner Idun seems a likely type, TAC team of the year defender and already strong bodied.
Bog for Vic Country over Metro in a big win, worth looking at late pick or rookie.

Brad Hill was 60kg when he was drafted and played five games in his first season, and every game in his next three seasons.

Ian Hill is currently underrated in this draft and is easily top 15 on talent.

All of these are in the mix:

Jye Caldwell
Liam Stocker
Jordan Clark
Xavier Duursma
Sam Sturt
Riley Collier-Dawkins
Chayce Jones
Tom Sparrow
Bailey Williams
Xavier O’Halloran
Curtis Taylor
Xavier O’Halloran supposedly has excellent leadership qualities. Whether that means he is the next Joel Selwood or George Horlin-Smith is what I hope our recruiters can determine.
Bailey Williams might be a reach at 12 however, he is a need and 12 is our only chance to get him.
Riley Collier-Dawkins seems similar to Constable.
I like the look of Jordan Clark off half back. Uses it well and I think has played Senior football this year in WA.

Interesting one.
Do we cut him and pick up a player using a very late pick or even a delisted FA?
When you look at our mature age pick up's you would offer him the 1 year as he will still be better then a kid, but for longer term you would take a kid over him, my gut feel is they will offer base contract.

I think we should be comparing Murdoch to the best State league outside midfielders. If we think there is a better state league outside mid we can rookie list we should go in that direction. If not, re-sign Murdoch.

IMO we need the mature body, somebody ready to contribute 15 odd games.
