All those you've listed as players we've lost were not in the senior team apart from random cameos. Dalhaus and Rohan are best 22 in their previous AFL teams. I'd say we've gotten rid of some players that were just not going to make it in our team and replaced them with ready to play senior players. So far we’ve lost:
McCarthy
GHS
Thurlow
Gardner
Gregson
Black
Crameri
Gained:
Rohan
Dahlaus
Krueger
Picks 42 and 70
Held onto:
Menzel
Scooter
A cooked Taylor
And I thought this years list was paper thin. Can hardly wait for 2019
We won't be using 70. We will have prob 3 picks and Brownless. Maybe two if Kelly stays.Teia Miles would be better than anything we get at pick 70
Miles Vs Matty HayballTeia Miles would be better than anything we get at pick 70
Do you think before you post?crap footballer couldn't get a game with Hawks no better than Murdock, thurlow etc
I hope that's a rhetorical question...Yeah, he's worth more. But we didn't get bent over. We helped him get to a another club.
You do know the difference?
Pick 70 = Extra points available for Brownless; not that we would've needed it, as Pick 59+60 would've been plenty for him.We won't be using 70. We will have prob 3 picks and Brownless. Maybe two if Kelly stays.
Scary proposition really. Rampe, Mills, Grundy, Smith, McVeigh, Thurlow.Congrats to Thrurlow.
The kid can play and was treated like shit at Geelong.
Hope he sticks it to us.
While retaining perennially injured players. All those you've listed as players we've lost were not in the senior team apart from random cameos. You forgot LLYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD .Scary proposition really. Rampe, Mills, Grundy, Smith, McVeigh, Thurlow.
I can see Thurlow getting a regular game at Sydney mate. Geelong shit all over him while he was here and never gave him a good run at itScary proposition really. Rampe, Mills, Grundy, Smith, McVeigh, Thurlow.
On the Kelly trade again, the more I think about it, Pick 20 + 22 + 2019 First rounder, for Kelly + Our 2019 2nd rounder = good deal.
But I suspect we have one more year left with this list, so they will keep him, then its proper rebuild start.
Mmmm, the trick now is to trade that pick 70 to the Pies for Grundy.Thurlow for pick 70.
We just got bent over!
That's what I meant. No sarcasm attached.I can see Thurlow getting a regular game at Sydney mate. Geelong shit all over him while he was here and never gave him a good run at it

Hawkins and Selwood both 31 next year. I think Selwood will drop off more, and will definitely need a new position if he wants to extend his career imo. Hawkins probably could go another 2 seasons without a major form drop off, if no injuries. No way does a re build start while we have J Selwood, Dangerfield or Hawkins.
You keep referring that he was shit on by Geelong. Is that because they played him in the twos and didn't see him worthy of a spot in the ones?I can see Thurlow getting a regular game at Sydney mate. Geelong shit all over him while he was here and never gave him a good run at it
The brains trust at the club obviously think we just need to tinker around the edges to be thereabouts or improve next season. Are we contending or not? Our moves this trade period look like we are pretty happy with the status quo. There is so much talent bouncing around the trade tables and we were not interested in any of it.
