Tarryn Thomas has been really good. Chayce Jones looking like a flop, but it's still early. Xavier O’Neill has shown some good signs at West Coast. It's true there haven't been many successes from Tassie, but they also haven't had many drafted.
Reckon you're getting mixed up with Mitch O'Niell, who was the tassie kid at WCE. He's since be delisted and is playing SANFL

Shifter says.... Oscar Morrison has intercept marking on compared to Haynes... add leadership and running... he sounds like someone we should be considering late or with a rookie pick.

Just too many of these kids , we have not seen enough of them. It a sausage draft.

Oscar Morrison

Geelong Falcons, NAB League / St. Josephs College
State: Victoria (Country)
Height: 194cm
Weight: 91kg
Date of Birth: 21/08/03

Powerfully built tall defender who can play the intercept-marking role or stand one-on-one with his opponent to win or halve contests. A natural leader who captained St Joseph’s College this year, he never seems flustered down back with a good burst of speed to rebound from defence. With intercept skills like star Giant Nick Haynes, he performed strongly for Victoria Country in the NAB AFL Challenge match against Victoria Metro in July. Played 10 matches for the Geelong Falcons where he averaged 13.5 disposals and earned selection in the NAB League Team of the Year. His time of 6:33 for 2km at the NAB AFL Draft Combine in Bendigo gave an insight into his running capacity and competitiveness.

Like JVR, but I do quite like the idea of Williams as well if he slides to our 30’s picks. Can play both ends. Like the look of him. I’d only consider taking one tall but he’d be my (realistic) pick in front of Aleer and Bazzo. Think JVR probably gets taken a bit before our 2nd pick.

Yep same here re. Williams (he's who I took in our mock as the last available key tall, and reckon he could be a decent slider)

Dammit there goes my 'smoky' for my last rookie spot...bah! Think he could be a really good pick up, and give us more KP depth (also doesn't hurt that he's one of ours either)

He seem better value than some other options. Maybe a cm or two short of ideal but he could still be growing. I know we are committed to re drafting Constable if he is not taken but it would seem a good value option considering we have lost Krueger and Henderson

I like him..im not sure if he will make the step up to afl but hes certainly got good traits. I doubt he goes main draft but hes a chance as a rookie.

Really ..at what number are you prepared to draft him at.

Id take him in the 30s given we desperately need a key back. As there arent many quality talls in this draft the clubs will go early on the ones that are there its the mids that will slide imo.

Im thinking that is very early. He is not Stewart.... but it only takes one club to go early.

I mean stewarts an example we went 'early' because the dogs and freo were both very keen and had picks in the next 5-10 picks. Im not saying dean will be as good a player but he had arguably a better year than stewart the year he got drafted and this draft lacks talls plus theres a track record of fothergill round medallists getting drafted and doing well. Im thinking someone will take him in the 2nd/3rd round if we dont.

If he could be as good as Egan id be happy... and that was in the 60's.... but every draft year is different, and I think VFL defenders are more valued now.The medal thing historically shows there is a reasonable chance of success with him. In the draft is just a judgement call one who we need and who we like compared to who else is available. Put it this way id rather give Dean a go with pick in the 30's than JVR with our first pick. We need at least one solid mid win form the picks we use this year.

Other than the obvious ones (dean alleer schlensog whos a dfa) the other mature age kpd who might get a look in is noah pegoraro as a late/rookie pick given the lack of good talls in the u18 crop.

I do agree with that and theres precedent with stewart and luke ryan and a whole bunch of othwrs historically succeeding at afl and dean looks like he has a great attitude. I tend to think the clubs that need talls wil cherrypick them early as they know there arent many of them whereas they k kw they can get good mids with later picks this year so i expect jvr will be gone before our picks whereas the narure agers probably wont but i agree id rather go dean anyway.

Need to add plenty of body size to Alleer and Dean for them to be genuine AFL prospects, is my main question mark as to whether or not they can make the grade, I much prefer Schlensog personally only a year older and has the body to be ready now.
