If Van Rooyen, Brown, Taylor, Conway, Knevitt are available at Pick 22.

Who do you think we will take?

One of those, or some kid only Wells knows about?

I have a sneaking suspicion, we will get Fejo Jnr. With a late pick.

Hope so...if we dont, someone else will

If Van Rooyen gets to 22 and we dont take him Wells has rocks in his head, dont think its actually any chance of happening for that matter as surely the latest he gets is Sydney at 18 but the point still stands.

He did kick a lot of goals at WAFL colts, but his kicking looks a bit odd. He probably can play Key position at AFL, but yeah, he has similar stats to Kersten did in his WAFL colts year and he slipped to Pick 34, but then again, Van Rooyen has that extra 2cm and can probably play as a genuine Key Position, rather than a Third Tall.

JVR wont get past freo at 19 so thats moot.

Id take taylor-knevitt-brown-conway in that order but theres another 5 or 6 players id happily take at 22 instead also.

I'd want Taylor, but I think Wells/Mackie would take Van Rooyen/Knevitt - they seem to favour flexibility and upside.

He possibly could if they take Amiss with their earlier pick.

Would be happy with either Taylor or Brown of that lot with our first.

Possibly but i think richmond will take whichever of amiss and jvr is left at 15 so i doubt either gets to 22 (24). Id be quite happy with taylor or brown both are really solid picks if one of the top 15 doesnt slide to our pick. Id also happily take knevitt at 22.

I think we were both making the same point?

I agree. I don't believe you wouldn't be surprised if the Dogs weren't interested in Blake. Like me. you would be surprised if they weren't showing some interest in him.

It's simply a case of reading what you wrote and knowing what you meant.

How do you think JVR compares to Keitel. Any idea what his combine numbers are?

Ill see if i can track them down. As you know i was a massive keitel fan in his draft year (and hes backed it up year after year in the wafl) and at u18 level he was very athletic as a mover. To my eye jvr is about at the same level in terms of how he reads the ball flight as keitel was but is a better kick by foot around the ground (not goalkicking) than keitel was. I just think freos forward line is so bad and key forwards of quality are so hard to get outside the first round..i cant see them leaving amiss or jvr on the board for us.

10 years ago you would take Sam Banks but tassie players are a worry, i am not looking it up but don't think the afl has had too many good players from tassie of late

Tarryn Thomas has been really good. Chayce Jones looking like a flop, but it's still early. Xavier O’Neill has shown some good signs at West Coast. It's true there haven't been many successes from Tassie, but they also haven't had many drafted.

Ben Brown just won a flag, so he must be doing something right, haha

Im not convinced on either to be honest but I guess we see don't we. I hope we get the best mids we can add...but who that is depends on who slides and who gets popular. The last I read It seems Taylor is getting attention and may go early ...but then I see Mitch Owens may not last outside of 20... so someone half decent may be that at 24 ish..

I do think there will be really good players left at 24 which is good...i do agree id be focused on mids but there are probably 3 talls (jvr is one)that id take ahead of a mid if they slid.

We will just have to see I guess. Im not convinced on him. His strengths do not revolve around athleticism. At 194cm and his strengths read like someone who dominates lesser player at a lower level.

STRENGTHS:

+ Contested marking
+ Physicality
+ Strength
+ Versatility
+ Scoreboard impact

IMPROVEMENTS:

– Endurance
– Four-quarter production

I feel very unconvinced by both JVR and Williams. I think there success has largely come from being the biggest and strongest bodies at wafl colts level this year. I just get this feeling if they played senior wafl footy they would look very ordinary. At 194cm and 195cm they are both going to need significant development in there game to make it afl level. Simply said there current game isn't going to translate to afl level and even though they have been successful that still makes them raw prospects and not deserving of a top 40 pick in my opinion. There not just going to be able to mindlessly shove an afl key position player out of the way and mark the footy. I much rather draft alleer who has played against men this year and has tremendous upside with his speed, leap and attack on the footy. Same said for Dean.

On the other hand, I want him so bad!

Love the placing of his kicks as opposed to those who drill it hard. Pretty impressive highlights, ya got me on board!

Taylor’s a beautiful kick on both sides, seems to be a very smart footballer too. I still reckon he’s gone in the teens, unfortunately.
