Not sure that’s right. Somebody mentions it was Bris F3rd. Collingwood held a bunch and it was unclear which one they handed over

Yeah, they had Hawthorn's, Richmond's and Brisbane's F3. They had already traded out their own F3 to Gold Coast. It will be somewhere between 40-50.

Our 2022 hand is looking like 15, 33, 42, 45, 51, 59, 69 - looks like we're a very good chance to trade up again with a club that needs draft points.

They look physically ready to go don't they? I just hope that we haven't compromised on actual talent for players that are more physically advanced.

Given a lot of players lost 2 years of not only game but physical development thanks to the shutdowns i can see why we picked the more physically ready to go kids.

I think hawthorn will finish bottom 6 again so their future 4th should be early 60s for us so thats a good hand for next year. Especially in a good talls draft.

What did he say?
I posted the link one post above yours.

Geelong will have up to two selections in Friday’s Rookie Draft.

“Depending on the names still on our list, we might leave a spot open or we might have the two selections at the time,” Wells said.

“We’ll do a bit of work on that tomorrow and hopefully add to our list.”

I have a feeling the uncertainty is whether Schlensog is gone before our pick or not. If he's not I think we might be looking at him and Matt Ling with our two picks.

If after all is said and done , Schlensog was not good enough to go straight on our list ...... I have to question if he the right player for us? Sdek is the players for the super talls. I think the best KPD intercept marker is who we should take.

Do we know whether there are many clubs that are looking to refresh their rookie list like we ae in this instance? Nth Melb will retake Polec for example. It might be a case where we don't have any real competition due to the amount of veterans being put on the rookie lists this year..

Hopefully Justin Davies who has been linked to us and Blake Shlenshog.

I’m hoping Dean drops to us.

If you have seen Dean play then he isn't your traditional back. A lot of uncontested marks. Personally I think Blake is better. Have we even been linked to Dean?

The leaks out of the club have been strong and spot on this year right throughout the post season. From the coaches exit, to the trade period and also the draft. Even Kroeger leaked out.

Along with Davies we have also been linked to Cooper Hamilton, Blayne O’Loughlin, Kaden Harbour and Matt Ling. Shifter absolutely loves Cooper Hamilton but we have taken a lot of his type already.

Do we keep a spot open in case we get crushed with injuries and require a needs based player

Me too. Him or pegoraro or dyson hilder as a smokey.

I might be wanting a few too many Falcons but I like that Morrison is StJ and Capt material... but whoever is the best intercept marker. Ideally someone that can nail the ball more often not when they are dropping to their foot.

The kid was compare to GWS Haynes ... so thats sounds good to me , maybe he adds a cm or so be ideal in a coupel of years. It seems like we are drafting for 2025 so a good fit.

Agreed - I think our list is already borderline unbalanced with Coopers and this would tip it over the edge.

Going to be fascinating to view how this crop of mids go over the next few years.

Thinking about it a little more today, I assume that without the access to the top crop of mids that Wells/Mackie decided that they needed to focus on super competitive/aggressive types. Not saying they are devoid of skill, but their makeup is such that they relish the contest.

The question that no one can answer for a couple of years is do they have the quality to be meaningful AFL players? As physically mature players already, has that physicality allowed them to “dominate” junior footy but they’ll get found out for quality when amongst players of similar size?

Going to be intriguing. Clearly some clubs either focus on guys that are quality users (Tigers) or on speed etc. Personally I would have probably preferred a couple of others but let’s now see where we are at in 2 years time. One thing I think we can at least be confident in is that the guys we did draft won’t die wondering whether they could have made it if they put in more.

I think their athletic profiles, i.e. being explosive, seemingly good endurance, means they're less likely to be a bust as opposed to a Hobbs-type (not specifically Hobbs himself), just being a strong man child with fewer athletic traits.

That’s a fair call. Just hope their bodies remain sound as all have had injury issues at some stage.

I think Hobbs has been a bit unfairly maligned in recent days. I think he’ll be a good player in a Taylor Adam’s type of way.
