Didn't Rohan sign a 2 year deal 12 months ago
I'm so confused about this one. Nowhere is it said that he's contracted past this year...but then it's pretty wide knowledge amongst our base that he is contracted until the end of next season - how has no-one caught this, lol?

You will be completely spewing the Guthries are contracted.
I must admit at the start of this season I thought this would be Zacs last year as a Cat he's had a fine season and ever so pleased to see his brother doing what made him such a good player in 2016 winning his own footy and attacking through the middle of the ground long may it continue. Congratulations to both.No no spewing here.

I don’t think you can count Menzel as a draft failure. Clearly the talent was there and he played plenty of great games. Brown and Cockatoo on afl lists for a long time show that they both had the talent.
Dan Menzel had sublime skills, was such a pity that his knees prevented him from being the star he should have been. As good as Stevie J was Menzel was better. In that era, in terms of talent I'd only rate Gary Ablett Jnr higher.

Its the quiet time of the year in terms of the football cycle. But we still have the draft to speculate on. So here is my dream senario.

Step 1 We delist Simpson with the intention of re drafting him as a rookie.

Step 2 We go after Busslinger with the intention of taking him at 7. West Coast them trade pick 8 and 20 to Geelong for 7 so they get Busslinger.
Its those picks or Busslinger is a Cat. (Andrew Mackie making an early claim as our new trading genius)

Step3 Assuming the trade with West Coast occurs, we draft Phillipou at 8. With us already having brought in so much tallent I'm going for a boom or bust pick with Phillipou. Boom and he is the next Danger, bust and he is delisted in about 3 years.

Step 4 We take the best available key position prosect at 20. Fingers crossed.

Step 5 Closhesy makes it through undrafted and so we get him as a B Rookie. He will rival Tommy Atkins for his attack on the ball and opposition.

Step 6 We take another key position speculative pick with our late pick.

Step 7 Riccardi comes in as an A rookie. He will take time.

If we manage this after winning the flag our trade period and with very high levels of optimism surrounding last years draft intake, the AFL might just change the rules to give the bottom teams a chance!

Does your dream scenario have room for McKenna? There is a spare rookie spot for him if Clohesy can be taken as a cat B.

Was there a phantom draft in today's 'Scum'? And if so, who are we predicted to take?
I think the original phantom version might have been in yesterday's paper. It had us taking Clark at pick 8 (after bids for Ashcroft at pick 2 push us back one spot). Today's paper had a supposed "readers top 25." Don't know why they bother - the readers picks had Cadman at 25 (OMG) so a complete waste of space. So many people with a keyboard with such little clue (says me as I type a message onto bigfooty !).

Based on nothing but gut feel, Hawks take Clark and Cats trade out 7.

Not sure if Hawks need Clark if they think Worpel will get back to his best and that Cooper S will be a long term player for them?

Closhesy hasn't played football for three years?
Cause that is the only way he can be Cat B isn't it? NGA's are Primary list or Cat A aren't they?

NGA are primary list or CatB, father & son selections are primary or CatA

This is taken from a write-up on a few potential NGA & FS selections for a rival team (Hawthorn)

Jerome Lawrence, son of Stephen Lawrence:
Projected draft range: Late-rookie
Lawrence projects as a later pick who possibly slips into the rookie draft. He is late to the elite development system, which might indicate untapped potential, and he has shown the ability to perform in patches at NAB League level, but his lack of exposed form will mean is isn’t taken higher in the draft.

Josh Bennetts, NGA:
Projected draft range: Late-rookie
Hawthorn shouldn’t be worried about having to match a bid on Bennetts, and will be hoping he slips through to the rookie draft, where the Hawks will be able to place him straight on the Category B rookie list.

There was a decent mature KPD in the VFL racking up big stats... What's his name again? and what draft selection is he likely to go at?

Probably not a priority considering we kept Sav.
