Cal saying Gold Coast interested in Clark or Gibney. What a let down that would be.

Mitch reporting that the Saints now in for McKenna with the Bombers, Port and Brisbane and that we are now outsiders. Will know over next 7 days. If Mitch is reporting that then I’d say the ship has sailed.

I think Gibney would suit them more. Do they want Clrk and Rowell?

If Tsatas is actually there I think we'll pick him tbh, one of few genuine quality outside players in the draft and most of ours are north of 30, has inside scope aswell once he adds some more size, would be surprised if he gets through though the 3 sides with picks before us all need his type for mine.

It seems likely someone slips thru if Clrk is taken by someone else. Tsitas , according to Cal might even slip thru to StKilda.

He did say Tsatas was likely to be a Bomber a 4. Seems pretty certain who the top 8 are. He mentioned the earliest at this stage for Busslinger seemed to be WCE at 9.

We will not know for a while but I suspect Haw looks very hard at Clark. He seems the type Mitchell would love to add
They just seem to be the club with so many like Clark. They have all mainly inside mids. Ward, Newcombe, Cooper Stephens, Long, Worpel. I mean they couldn’t get Tom Mitchell in there this year.

If he’s the best player I guess it doesn’t matter. They seem the one club that the Tsatas, Gibney, Humphrey or Philipou’s of the world seems to suit the most. Them and Essendon.

GC seems like a great fit for Clark. He suits their list perfect and if his character is as good as they say then for a club that struggles with retention it’s an added bonus.

This sounds like Bruhn all over again

Just putting it out there, is there a way we could by trading out Pick 7 get a pick around 10-12 to potentially get one of Phillipou, Clark, Humphrey's, Busslinger, but then also get Jaxon Binns with a pick around the 20-35 mark?

Get one gun, and then get a high quality outside winger that runs two ways and can bang goals - eg to replace one of I Smith or M Duncan.

Id have the other way round. I guess it depends how you see their lists. GC would be a good fit for Ginbey imo

I also think we should draft Jinbe, you don't find many guys who can move that well at his size. Would also be a big advantage in the wet

If we draft someone who is from out of Vic.. I think we need to ensure they will be in the best 22 before long or its just asking for someone to cut our grass.

Lack of production worries me with Ginbey, especially when he spent half of the year in WAFL Colts which is a comp I don’t particularly rate, isn't the best kick of the footy either prefer others with a top 10 pick.

He played 1 game in the colts for the whole year the rest were with the men or the champs games. You're never going to get high production at league level playing 3rd tall defender. The 1 game at colts level he got 19 touches a a defender which isn't terrible. Winning state mvp and averaging 22 touches I thought wouldn't be considered a lack of production. Also you have to consider it was a new position for him so I would consider a slight lack of accumulation acceptable. I really want him but get the sense he will get snapped up in the 3 picks prior to us.

Anyone think Hawthorn agreeing to not take Jhye Clark was part of the Cooper Stephens trade?

Ik, it’s probably draft tempering

The lack of picks next year in what will be a better draft than this year will be an issue. I doubt many clubs will be trading out picks like this year ... but things change I guess.

dfa's and FA will mean we are not short of options just not much in draft. I would not mind us adding a couple of dfa's to our VFL side ..to have a look at them

I do agree its a better draft next year but we will have some guys who dont make best 22 every week who will have some trade currency so its likely some of those go and we will bring picks in that way

I would like if that was true but it probably isnt.

If tsatas gets to 7 and clark is gone at 5 or 6 i can see some vic clubs trying to trade up to 7 with us and i would look at that if its a good deal.

If we trade out...id rather trade into next year. If Adelaide came calling for example and the wanted our pick for Phillipou ...

but Tsitas got there ..who knows who might want to deal. He probably slips thru to Stk if we pass on him
