The link between Geelong and De Goey is a tenuous one at best. I've got it on pretty good authority that De Goey's manager is the one that told the media about Cats and Saints and the interest from Geelong is luke warm at best - the story did not come from Geelong. I wouldn't stress a great deal about him being at Geelong .... highly unlikely and there's 4-5 targets Geelong has it's eyes on ahead of De Goey.
For what it's worth - people closely connected to the football club are adamant De Goey will be at Geelong next year. As will Tanner Bruhn. The De Goey decision was all but rubber stamped from a football department perspective, and the club also wanted to speak to key stakeholders and sponsors before going back to De Goeys manager.
Take that for what it's worth, but these people are usually spot on with their mail.
Where are we at here, Jumping Jack? One week we have no interest, the next he's locked and loaded, and then back to unlikely again??More chance of DeGoey coming to Geelong than Grundy - and I don't think either will happen.
More to the point, are they or are they not genuinely injured?Where are we at here, Jumping Jack? One week we have no interest, the next he's locked and loaded, and then back to unlikely again??
Definite no on DeGoey. Geelong were all in (at the right price) but things have changed from a Collingwood perspective and it seems he'll stay. Media seem to be going with that as well in recent weeks.Where are we at here, Jumping Jack? One week we have no interest, the next he's locked and loaded, and then back to unlikely again??
What happened with him exactly? (Sorry to bring up a bad memory from the distant past). I’m aware of his very serious post-career indiscretions.
Would be a very very nice addition. If he is an RFA you just know the Dons would match our bid though.Pretty sure Ex Falcon Darcy Parish is a free agent next year. Essendon hardly going well.

Grundy is a different scenario. Geelong have made a big play and his manager is shopping him to all clubs as late as this week. I'm against it but my opinion counts for little
As I said at the start. We are one of two clubs that are likely to end up with Grundy. He is extremely unlikely to be at the Pies next yea

Essendon players are totally pissed off atm. Could be an easy get.Would be a very very nice addition. If he is an RFA you just know the Dons would match our bid though.
The story I heard was that he never wanted to be traded to Geelong in the first place, so spent the whole season sooking it up and being whiny/petulant about how much he didn't want to be there. What happened with him exactly? I'm sorry for my slowness but who are we talking about? The story I heard was that he never wanted to be traded to Geelong in the first place, so spent the whole season sooking it up and being whiny/petulant about how much he didn't want to be there.
The attitude from the rest of the playing group was "Okay well * off then you sooky bitch", allegedly it came to blows at Mad Monday to reinforce this point.....
I'm sorry for my slowness but who are we talking about?

Thank youJustin Murphy, I believe.
Each week i watch GWS each week the whole team look ordinary apart from 2 or 3 players Taylor, Greene etcEvery week I watch GWS.
Every week Hopper & Bruhn (when playing) look pretty ordinary.
Agreed, both are absolute jets. Each week i watch GWS each week the whole team look ordinary apart from 2 or 3 players Taylor, Greene etc
Lack of options/trade interest and contract means that it’s no harm to try and develop him down back next yearThe hyping of Sav down back I can only hope is a trade bump.
He was ok but it was an 85 point thrashing His best game in defence in the VFL we lost by 40.
I'm really not convinced.
Agree to early to be convinced. But I am convinced he won’t make it as forward or ruck so happy they have given him a crack down back. The hyping of Sav down back I can only hope is a trade bump.

Agree. Unless something decent is offered (which is doubtful) the potential upside of him developing as a FB isn't worth trading him away for little return.Lack of options/trade interest and contract means that it’s no harm to try and develop him down back next year
No harm no foul
I can see Grundy going to Port.Has Grundy ever been played as a Full Forward? Just curious.
I remember seeing him forward once in a game just briefly, and he was a bit like Hawkins just bulldozing them.
I don't think he is our priority. Need a decent midfielder first.I can see Grundy going to Port.
