AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
Stephen Rowe was adamant again on his radio show tonight that PA were into a speedy cat's small fwd from Geelong. And an announcement would be soon. Assuming soon as the cat's are done in the finals....
Not a chance in hell....i still think it might be Miers. If it's Stengle or Close I'll be shattered.
Yep - I think you're on the money there
Because it's a d* move regardless. Why wait until after finals to announce if its not someone in the current side

Do we think Evans is certainly gone?
I think he’s ok but I suppose he’s surplus to needs
Can Scott be considered for midfield? Don’t know much about him but remember he was highly touted
Agree about Evans. Has def upside that hasn’t really had a chance yetNot sure why we'd dump Evans so early.
I think Scott is a clear cut winger but all our wingers are old and will be gone soon so he seems like a great replacement in a seasons time.
Well then we might as well delist them.

Maybe but I think we'll be putting Dempsey and Knevitt on the wing soon enough with others like Kroeger, Stevens, Willis also potentially having a crackNot sure why we'd dump Evans so early.

We seen to really churn the bottom end of the list too. If we don't see a senior footballer we release to industryHe's been on the list for 3 years, was something of a speculative pick at the time and maybe he just hasn't come on as the club hope he would
No doubt the interruptions during 2020 & 21 didn't help, but sometimes tough calls have to be made
Scotty said in his presser today that he didn't know anything about Bailey Scott. He added that he would be surprised if a journalist knew more than he did. He seemed pretty genuine in his denial too. Not saying it won't happen of course. Maybe B Scott isn't big enough a name for the list management team to bring to Scotty before our premiership run idk. We're in for Bailey Scott according to the Herald Sun. The article implies we may already have the deal over the line.
Yeah I’m not for trading out/delisting a second rounder after 3 years- 2 of which have been a mess as mentioned by cats_09Maybe but I think we'll be putting Dempsey and Knevitt on the wing soon enough with others like Kroeger, Stevens, Willis also potentially having a crack
If we're trading out a 2nd rounder I'd hope for a more inside type
A bit but I also think his foot speed might be a fatal flaw.Yeah I’m not for trading out/delisting a second rounder after 3 years- 2 of which have been a mess as mentioned by cats_09
He’s shown enough in his afl games to convince me he’s worth persisting with. Particularly considering he played forward pocket which can be a graveyard. Has footy nous which you can’t really train.
Feel he might be squeezed out though which will be a shame
I'm not saying Chris Scott is lying... but he definitely wouldn't be giving much away in saying were into him ... he will be thinking just play test cricket and defend that question as his only thinking finalsScotty said in his presser today that he didn't know anything about Bailey Scott. Reckon we are aiming to pull off something big during this trade period though. I have no evidence to back this feeling up, just that after the journalist asked about Bailey Scott, Scotty said something like "Great who else?" It felt like he was giving the journalists the hint that the Cats are hustling this trade period and have an actual big target in mind (no offence to Bailey Scott). He seemed pretty excited about something too but then all of us Cattery are excited about our current form so it could be possible premiership-joy not possible big trade-joy.
Young Roo set to follow Dad’s footsteps
Geelong is poised to pinch Bailey Scott from North Melbourne in an early blow for new coach Alastair Clarkson.
The Cats have been in dialogue with Scott’s management for some time and may have already convinced the 22-year-old dasher to change clubs before Clarkson was appointed.
Scott had the option of joining the Roos and Geelong as a father-son selection in 2018, because his dad, Robert, played more than 100 games for both clubs – but he was also eligible as an Academy pick for Gold Coast.
It’s understood North Melbourne has offered him a multi-year contract to stay.
Scott averaged a career-most 18 disposals in 21 senior appearances in a new defensive role this season but can also slot in on a wing or across half-forward.
He bought a home in Altona, which is only a 50-minute drive to Geelong.
Industry sources believe Scott would be worth a pick in the second or third round, but the latter would be a disappointing result for the Kangaroos after developing him for four years.
The Cats are also linked with contracted Giants midfielder Jacob Hopper and Collingwood ruckman Brodie Grundy, so they could be major players in the trade period.
I still rage at GWS for the whole Jezza fiasco during grand final weekWhy wait until after finals to announce if its not someone in the current side
Could be but Chappy and Stevie J weren’t overly fast; they had footy smarts.A bit but I also think his foot speed might be a fatal flaw.
The PA board absolutely despise our fwds absolutely hate!Ignorant Adelaide folk calling Narkle a small forward, nothing surer.
