"SANFL club Glenelg has pulled off a recruiting coup by enticing former Western Bulldogs and Richmond defender Jordan McMahon back to the club. "

LMAO. :D

Re: Glenelg in raptures after trading Jordan McMahon

I wonder if Terry Tan played a part in McMuffin being traded back to Glenelg? Spare a thought for poor old Mark Mickan and the frustration he will endure seeing him rack COUNTLESS USELESS posessions, whilst aiming to make the finals again next season!

Re: Glenelg in raptures after trading Jordan McMahon

:)VARICHO is closer to the mark than most ... Jordy will likely dominate at SANFL level. Nowhere near as bad as most posters on here make out, but they need a whipping boy.
It's not lost on me that for all the Jordy bashing that went on on here last year, we won a total of six games for the year and the guy never fronted up for the seniors once.
I would suggest he is far from the reason for our lack of wins.
Said it at the time and still saying it three year later, pick 19 for Jordy was a poor move ... but would have been happy parting with a third or fourth rounder which I am sure the Dogs would have agreed to!

Not sure about your comment on McMahon's likely domination of the SANFL next season. Please consider that the SANFL is the best competition outside the AFL. IMO, he will be a serviceable player for his old club!

Re: Glenelg in raptures after trading Jordan McMahon

He'll do well. He was very good for Coburg this year when he was fit.

A fresh start at his old club will do him wonders. Jut like Tambling, outside of Melb he wont have much pressure.

never quite understood the vitriol directed at JM, have seen plenty worse get a game in Y&B and face less scrutiny...good luck to him, the Bays are my second team

Unfortunately for him, I believe that most of the dissatisfaction of his recruitment was that a) he was expensive - pick 19 b) it was Wallace trying to justify his recruiting days back at the Bulldogs.

None of the above was his fault.

His personal undoing was lacking the intestinal fortitude to put his head over the ball and make a tackle stick. For a professional footballer being paid in the rage of $300K per year, this is unacceptable.

Re: Glenelg in raptures after trading Jordan McMahon

Did you see where he finished in the Liston or even the Coburg B&F?

What a larf.

He only managed to be fit for about 5 games. That's like saying Foley must be a shit player because he couldn't even crack the Top 10 of the B&F in the 15th placed side.

Bit of a difference between playing for the Crows against AFL competition and playing for Glenelg at SANFL dont ya reckon. Not sure if the 'outside of Melbourne' commonality puts them in a similar situation.

Tambo will find the pressure as intense as he did in Melbourne whereas McMahon is playing for a team that only the ferals who turn up will be bothered to get into him.

That is not even a remotely relevant comparison. Foley did not even play for most of the season.
I would think Kayne Pettifer is a better comparison, lets see how they go.

Of course it's a relevant comparison, because McMahon did not even play for most of the season either.

SANFL is alrite, mcmahon will dominate there

unfortunately for him, most believe that most of the dissatisfaction of his recruitment was due to what was his fault and not what wasnt. Whatever was out of his control, was not the problem, the problem was that he was being paid 300K to produce and now he is playing in the SANFL for peanuts, which is what he should have agreed to as a pay cut when he produced what he produced for us. ;)
